Honda,& BMW Tops Most Requested at LeaseCompare.com
Several Honda and BMW models have been requested most at Automobile Consumer Services' Web site, LeaseCompare

Several Honda and BMW models have been requested most at Automobile Consumer Services' Web site, LeaseCompare.com, company officials explained on Thursday.

Honda and BMW combined to have nine of the 20 units listed as top new- and used-vehicle lease requests, LeaseCompare.com's report disclosed.

For used cars, the top three lease inquiries were for the Porsche 911, the BMW M3 and the Chevrolet Corvette, company officials noted. For new-car lease requests, the top three ranked were the Chevrolet Corvette, the Toyota Camry and the Audi A4.

All of Honda's listed vehicles were for new-car leases, including the Accord, Civic, Odyssey and Pilot, company officials mentioned. BMW had four vehicles on LeaseCompare.com's top used-vehicle lease request list. Besides the M3, BMW's 325, 745 and 330 also were ranked, officials pointed out.

"Volume brands, like Honda and Toyota, are becoming more popular for leasing," company president Tarry Shebesta explained, "while high-end used European models, like BMW and Mercedes, make excellent used-car leases because of their slower depreciation and perceived long-term reliability," Shebesta continued.

LeaseCompare.com officials also mentioned the information for their listings came from more than 1 million lease quote requests at their Web site during the second half of 2006.

So the A4 is on #5 for used and #3 for new. Not bad, finally the stupid US car market understands Audi is something.
I was expecting to see the bimmer (especially on the New category) way ahead, but it end up pretty close to Audi.

I didn't say Audi is the best.. ok?

:)

No mercedes?
Mercedes in general is a LOT cheaper to lease than a BMW.

uh, what? No they're not, not even close. The only two MB's that lease for less than their BMW counterparts are the C-class (which is a POS) vs. the 3-series sedan and the MB SUV's vs the X5. The SLK? More than a Z4. CLK? More than the 3-series coupe. E class? More than the 5-series. S-class? More than the 7-series. MB doesn't have an X3 or 6-series (though if you want to consider the SL a competitor then again, the BMW is less monthly), and BMW doesn't have a CLS or G, so there's no direct comparisons to be made on them. But most MB models are more monthly than BMW's and they don't even include maintenance for free anymore.

I realized the other day that it would make a lot of sense to LEASE an S550 4Matic for my wife (if she wants one), rather than to buy a used model. Most used S-Classes are in black, silver or white, and she prefers green or pewter. We would be able to custom-order it (?), and it's always better to have a new car smell. It's also $700-800/mo for a $96K S-Class! (-:0
