Delay is better than living under LF-A's shadow.

From the spy video, Honda just tried to use Porche's 911 as the benchmark. Isn't the standard too low for its supposed v10 supercar?

I think putting a NSX against the 911 is a reach. Maybe a Carrera 4.

I'm getting very frustrated with Acura. As much as I am a rabid Acura fan, these types of announcements just make me worry about their vision for their flagship(s), the RL included. Honda/Acura has never, ever had such a problem in the past and I wonder why the lack of direction exists now, or so it seems.

When the NSX does finally debut, it had better be one helluva car that blows any competing Ferrari, Porsche, Lexus, Corvette, Viper, and Aston Martin out of the water. Otherwise, it would have a pretty detrimental impact on the brand's image.

I think they are just not ready yet this year, otherwise they wouldn't run it on S2000 shell tracing by a Porsche until two month ago.

Is it just me or is Honda losing some of their game? I mean Acura had been in a decline for years. Their RL is not a top luxury car, just a little better than its excellent TL, so what is the point? They ditched the RSX.... TSX needs a new model. It seems like Honda who lead the luxury Japanese car in the 80's has fallen to the wayside. When Toyota and Nissan have developed one or two models unique to their luxury brands, Honda has not. I like Acura and I hate to see Honda has kind of just let them slide, not taken them to seriously it seems. Sure they have 2 new sport utes, but where is the innovation? Honda builds excellent engines, yet seems to now be following its competition. Very sad indeed.

IMHO they jumped the shark when the rumors of a 4th gen Integra using the RWD S2000 platform turned out false...and instead they released the bloated looking FWD RSX.

I guess the high water mark was the Integra Type R..in yellow, of course. :)

is it just me or are a lot of these links no longer being found?

i wonder the same about the prelude? that was a great model of honda's and one of its best design aside from the nsx, s2000 and possibly crx. one of my first cars was a 92 prelude 4ws with am vtec and it was ahead of its time in 92. it had the bumpers and non-side mouldings that cars of today have only recently been incorporating. it had a semi wide body. thats 10 years ago! loved it.

If I recall correctly the first NSX was also delayed one year after the anticipated launch .

If it takes Acura 20 years to redesign the car , it won't matter to me . It's not as though there aren't other cars in the 100K price range to choose from and I certainly don't hear a public outcry for the NSX .

In fact the original car was highly praised by journalists yet sales numbers dwindled making it the car that everyone loved but nobody bought.

um, dwindling sales of the nsx isnt surprising... considering it was produced from 1990 through 2005 with only minor refreshes and without any redesign!

That's right. I was also involved in the love triangle/octagon between Will/43LE/formula1/RobertFisk.

Robert is simply lashing out in a jealous love rage.

while it is exciting to hear of the NSX's development, it's not too disappointing news to hear it's delayed. There isn't that huge of a demand for it.
Where Acura really needs to step it up immediately is to build it's sedans to the level of BMW. That means getting rid of the front wheel drives in the TSX and TSX. Better styling to not resemble Honda Accords. They also need much more powerful engines(higher torque V-6's and a V-8) and better performance. I'm sure Honda is in development of these things as I'm writing this, so it will be exciting news to hear when it arrives.
