Honda S3000: Next S2000 may get 300-hp V6
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything on the next-generation NSX. So, while we wait for some crazy Nurburgring lap times on the supercar from Honda, Road&Track has dug up some info on another high-performing Honda - the next-generation Honda S2000 rumored to be called the S3000.

At first sight, the Open Study Model Concept shown at the 2008 London Motor Show made most of us think “Okay - here is what the next-generation S2000 will look like.” Then Honda disappointed us by saying the car has nothing to do with the S2000 and is a convertible version of a dedicated hybrid CR-Z sports car. Then we heard that the front-engine/front-wheel-drive OSM hints at the next-generation Civic - and the next-generation S2000 will without a doubt be rear-wheel-drive.

According to Road&Track, the OSM will offer the next S2000...

Yikes! It has that ugly, humpy, eyesore look of the bloated Lexus SC 430. (And people criticize BMW's Bangle Butt!) Too bad. A beautiful follow-up to the acclaimed S2000 would have been very nice. Honda should stick to lawn mowers, generators and motorbikes.

I think a six-cylinder would ruin this car.

It has lost alot of it's orignal edge. The design (concept) was awesome. Production not so much but ok. This one has no edge, punch, etc.

I don't know if I like the idea of putting a V6 in the S2000 replacement. I take pride in the light four cylinder in my prelude.

Then you probably didn't like the S2000 either? Seeing as it had a significantly bigger engine the the S800.

Looks like it added more fat to the vehicle. I wonder if it would improve lap times. Nice looking car though.

I bet the transmission is going to be an auto with paddle shifters as people who wanted the roadster were not able to drive the manual. Considering one of the basic rules of a roadster is a close ratio manual transmission.
