Honda’s Future: 2008 Accord coming in September, plus a hard top S2000
Oh yes, the 2008 Honda Accord is going to be the hottest thing since sliced bread - okay maybe not. But the eighth-generation Accord is big news for the Japanese auto maker as it gets ready to make its official debut in September. Automotive News says reports that the 2008 Honda Accord is the biggest, sportier and more powerful than its predecessors.

“The Accord is the single most important product in Honda’s lineup,” John Mendel, American Honda Motor Co.’s senior vice president, told Automotive News. “We believe this new design will bring emotion to (the Accord) like what happened with the redesigned Civic.”

While not many are fans of the new redesigned Civic as John implies, other upcoming models, like a hard-top S2000, may give consumers something to look forward to.

wtf? i thought that we were getting the new fit this fall too (fukui clearly mentioned it a couple months ago)? and a hard top for the S2000? like that is going to help its sales and its not even slated for a redesign till 2011? it'll be 11 years old then and i just hope it doesn't have the fate of the NSX which keeps getting delayed! and the damn new crossover better at least have a freaking V6 to be able to carry 7 passengers! can't wait for the new accord!

"......While not many are fans of the new redesigned Civic as John implies...."

Isn't it one of the top ten vehicles in sales right now?

I don't know what they mean with hard top S2000, so all S2000 wil come standaard with a removable hardtop and no softtop at all.
