Honda’s Insight looks a lot like the Prius, but that’s just pure coincidence
Honda’s new Insight concept that we saw last week has been called the ‘Prius-killer’ and the ‘Prius-fighter’ amongst other things. Well, the Honda Insight sure looks a lot like the thing its trying to kill and fight, but according to Honda that’s just pure coincidence.

According to Honda spokesman Chuck Schifsky: “It was done that way because it was the most aerodynamic design, and we were going for fuel economy.”

Schifsky says that the design for the Insight was mainly influenced by...

This wedge design is a product of trying to get the lowest coefficient of drag (Cd) for the desired passenger space. There is no conspiracy, unless you want to call physics a conspiracy. Why do you think everyone is so disappointed in the Volt, Chevy had to modify there design to get the greatest efficiency, otherwise whats the point. All the cars on this segment are going to look basically the same given there design requirements.

Yes, an utter disgrace. Well, it just shows you how far ahead of the curve Toyota is while the Germans just tag along for the ride. Atleast Honda admits it looks like a Prius but gives a reason which makes sense to the everyman.

I wonder what Mercedes' fish car looks like? Why, it looks like a Prius but with a more bulbous head.

Can't wait to see BMW's xerox of the Prius.

Doesn't matter, check out the other article about with the official Volt images. Looks WAY more upscale than either of these toys and gets better MPG all around anyways.

The Volt will be an exciting car if it does what it's promised to do. I look forward to it launching. Hopefully it'll be priced competitively. At the same time, the sell date is still 2-3 yrs away. GM's building a lot of hype up very early, but who knows what the competition will bring 2-3 yrs from now. It may not have to be the same technology (electric car), but it may still make it challenging for the Volt. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

What is the rest of the Honda line's excuse?
