Hooray! First Jaguar XF rolls of the production line
aguar announced today that it’s first Jaguar XF has rolled off the production line at the company’s Castle Bromwich plant. The first production XF, a 4.2 liter SV8 with a Vapour Grey paintjob, has been donated to Jaguar’s Daimler Heritage Trust collection and will be displayed next to the most prestigious and memorable cars by Jaguar.
The Jaguar XF will hit the U.S. market in March of 2008. In the U.S. the Jaguar XF will only come in a base 4.2 liter V8 engine that will produce 300 horsepower and a 4.2 liter Supercharged V8 engine that will produce 420 horsepower.

I think after the first year or two after the hype has died down about this car they will have to release a V6 to the U.S. market. a V8 only is not a smart choice when A. gas prices are on the rise, and B. the competition all has V6s available.

It's a disaster. It's made for Americans (hence all the stupid very unbritish gadgets)

"stupid" and "unbritish" should not be in the same sentence...BTW, you really need to get up to date with proper dental care, seriously.

Well Europeans cant seem to support the damn company, so why not cater to the biggest luxury automotive market in the world? With the XF selling in the states, maybe Jaguar can float on for another couple of years.
Sevor, you really need stop blaming Americans for all of the worlds problems. Watch out when you walk, you might trip with your chin so high...

Thank heavens its finally hit production. Now the buying public can start ignoring it, as they do all the other Jag products.
Sevor - I hope you are kidding because nobody in America buys them and most Americans who do buy them are elderly and most likely unable to operate the gadgets. Perhaps all the gadgets are for another market.
Its such a shame that this once proud brand has been ran into the ground over the past 20 years.

The rear, side and three-quarter views are stunning. The front is simply awful. There are no Jag styling cues and the headlights are bizzare.
I'd have to see one in the flesh I guess.

I think it look very nice, but they need to make the interior more luxurious like Lexus. And front headlights is kind of awardly looking, the concept look better for some reason?

I wanna love this thing too... I love Jags, but I'm still sort of luke warm on this one. Looked better as a concept. But there are a lot of nice features and I feel like this thing will look great in person. Let's hope so. I want Jaguar to be around for a long time and until I can finally get one.

Nondescript. Not very Jaguar at all. I wish I loved this car. Jaguar needs it. The XF Concept was nothing but a pipe dream...

This car is hardly a wow, not bad except for that back window, very ugly. I have now seen the car twice and for me it is just nothing special. With an unispiring choice of engines and what seems like a reasonable price I hope it does not bomb.

Production models rarely live up to the promise of the concept version. Unfortunately for Jag, in this case failing to live up to the promise of the gorgeous XF concept may be the death knell of the Jaguar brand.

I really like this car but i hope the headlights were more stylish and unique (like the beautiful rear's).Even the front bumper design could have been better more aggressive.

I love the design of the car. The car looks way, way better in person. The front is very pointy and curves outward from the bumper line, and the lines are quite sharp, you guys can not make out the design from the pictures, if you guys had seen the car in person you would have known what i am talking about. Guys trust me on this, this car is unbelievably modern and cool in person, the pics don't do justice to the car.

This car is awesome in the flesh, I saw it recently and everybody was impressed by it, the Jaguar stand was mobbed and the queues were rather large to sit inside one! The interior is in a different league from it's German competitors and the new 5.0 V8 will be coming soon if 420bhp is not enough for you!!!

I have seen the XF in person and it's completely lost the aggressive look of the concept. The headlights have gone from the stalking eyes of a hunter to the scared look of prey. The huge, upright grill has been thoroughly tamed. To keep the analogy going, this design has been neutered. It's gone from a car that would appeal to a 35 year old male to a 60 year old female. So dissappointing.

I don't totally agree with you fuelfool, It may be less aggressive than the concept, which i thought was a bit in your face kind of a design and i thought the grill of the concept was totally vulgar, but as a production car, and compared to it's rival 5 series, E class, and GS this car looks absolutely phenomenal.

Honestly I don't think this car will save Jaguar. They are putting all their faith in the XF. If they really were serious about a financial turn around they would have offered a V6 variant for the US market. I dont think that they will sell as much as they could if they offered a V6 instead of a V8. One good thing it does have reasonable pricing and the interior center stack (Start/Stop and JaguarDrive) is awesome. Hate the rims thou.

Not true they are about to break even less certain charges. Cost are ubder control and I have heard internally that a profit will be tuned by 2010.
