Hot News: Infiniti Wants 1-Series
Infiniti insiders have revealed the premium Japanese brand’s intention to launch a rival for the BMW 1-series and Audi A3. Yet crucially, Infiniti says the body style of its smallest model will be totally different from anything else in the segment.

There’s speculation that the baby of the new Infiniti range could be a small, high-end SUV crossover, fitting in below the EX35 SUV — currently Infiniti’s smallest offering. A coupé-cabriolet is also a possibility. Whatever it looks like, this entry model would go on sale in 2010 and could cost around £22k.

I agree, I've been hoping for a G35/7 convertible. Especially since it's based off of the 350zx chassis which comes in convertible. I love Infiniti and BMW, but the 1 series is fugly

Infiniti is getting 2 bubbly with the headlights and even the entire body. Not cool.

even smaller than the EX35, is that possible!?! As others have previously stated, the interior of the EX is "like a coffin"! could anyone possibly fit in an infiniti crossover that was smaller? Thats just ridiculous

I agree... EX35 actually has less rear seat space than a G37 coupe. It's ridiculous. I'm sure the trunk is smaller than my A3's, too.

If they do this. They should offer 2 and 3 door models only like the 135 and the A3.

They should make something like a small lightweight 350Z/G37 and put that 350BHP 3.7l V6(available here in Middle East)in it. That car would easily beat the 135i.

The car doesn't exist but it would easily beat a 135i according to you. lol. Even the G37 can't beat a 1 Series.

yeah but to out handle it, this new Infiniti will have to have the dimensions of a runaway lego brick that is the 1-series... but then nobody would buy it, that's the problem.

If people are worried about space, then buy a bigger car. It's a compact car segment; you shouldn't expect the room to be big.

It's like saying " Hey I want a FIT but can you make it as big as an Escalade." That just sound stupid.

Nissan says they will bring back the Nissan Silvia, if they did, that would compete well against the 1-series.

I'm an Infiniti owner and fan, but I don't see anything that could fall into the category of "SUV" being a 1-series competitor.

Kthor

do u know the G37 coupe available in Middle East with 350BHP has 0-60 in under 5 seconds(manufacture claim). Infiniti's advirtisment claims it's the most powerful and fastest in it's segment.

In real it's more like 4.9-4.7. So that's as quick as 335i and 135i. I just siad make it smaller and lightweight mean 135i size and that will be a lot quiker.
