How important is color to car companies sales? Is your color the most popular?

My car is fourth on the list, and I love blue and that's what I am sticking with LOL!

Mromar is correct, silver cars are least likely to get into accidents while yellow with the most.

Silver cars also have the highest resale value.

white is a horrible colour, looks terrible on most cars. silver (while dull) does look good, and gray versions look very good, like on the 6 series bmw.
i am not a fan of gold, especially that champagne gold that merc has, it doesn't look good on their current models.

RedCalipers, if yellow is the most likely to get into an accident, why are red cars the most expensive to insure? I agree about the resale value though.

If you live in SoCal, the numbers are slightly different.

Black 50%
Dark silver 50%
Silver 40%
Blue 5%
White 5%
Yellow/Red 10%

i love being able to find my yellow matrix in a parking lot

i dont think gold should be in the same category as yellow. most gold looks either silver (champagne) or brown

btw, what happened to green? was a time in the early '90's when every other car was green

Oh phew... our silver 2005 Dodge Neon 2.0 is alrigt, we almost bought a yellow one, or a red one! Luckily we bought the silver one... it was cheaper and it only had like 4000 miles on it. We checked out insurance and the insurance for the red one was more... and it was less for the silver one!

Black is also another colour that is likely to get into an accident - in 2002 my Mom had bought her brand-new BLACK Jeep Liberty... we didn't even have the car for 12 hours... because we picked it up in the evening. So next moring my Mom's on her way to work... turns at the light, and BAM! Someone rear ended her.. the car had like 2 miles on it!

I've always heard that red vehicles have the highest chance of accident, especially rear-end, due to the brake lights and color being very similar.
