Hummer H3T on sale in Middle East this November
The all-new 2009 HUMMER H3T is set to go on sale in the Middle East this November following an extensive testing and validation process designed to prove its stamina in various areas of on and off-road performance. HUMMER is bringing its unmistakable style and unmatched capability to the pick-up market with the 2009 H3T. As is the case with other testing and validation programs GM Middle East runs, this one was designed to ensure that the H3T is specifically adjusted to meet the demanding needs of potential Middle East customers and the environment they live in, and that it can, in true HUMMER style, dominate various types of terrain in the region. The Middle East.

That's about the only place it's going to sell.

HUMMER needs to go the way of plymouth and oldsmobile.

Why? Because it isn't YOUR choice in vehicles? Despite an image problem the fact remains that Hummer's vehicles are very capable off-roaders with distinctive style.

Maybe you shouldn't judge so much.

or maybe you should judge MORE. if we as a society looked down on such wasteful vehicles rather than looking down on practical vehicles, the american economy may have not been as slow this past june when regular hit $4+.

and i wasn't aware of the hummer offerings being any more capable off-road than their gmc/chevy cousins.

e34,
If society told us what to drive we wouldn't be a democracy we would be communists or an oligarchy. The H3T gets a few mpg less than its in class counterparts while faring better offroad. I would be willing to bet that your BMW gets a few mpg less than other cars of the same vintage in the same class, maybe you shouldn't have bought it. The truck has 4 doors, seats 5, can haul a full sheet of plywood and likely tows near 5000 lbs while still being able to rock crawl well. That seems pretty practical to me. Perhaps the contractor who buys this to get to and from job sites while carrying tools and supplies couldn't have gotten away with something other than a BOF 4wd pickup and so he chose one that suited his individual needs. Why judge him on his choice instead of accepting that his needs may be different than your own?!

The American economy's downturn (and subsequent rise in gas prices) has more to do with the falling value of the dollar compared to other currencies than people buying SUVs and pickups. Add in the housing fall and it is a surprise that nobody saw this coming.

If you aren't aware of the offroad prowess of Hummer's trucks compared to their GMC and Chevy counterparts then what gives you any authority to talk smack about the brand. All Hummer models have shorter front and rear overhangs, a different programming for the AWD system or push button 4wd systems. They have lower set gears to help when rock crawling (which also hurts on road mileage). Add in that the built in skid plates, larger offroad oriented tires, locking differentials, and revised suspensions and you can certainly see why they are better offroad and why they cost a premium over their platform mates.

Perhaps you should just admit you don't know about the brand or target demographics and are in no position to judge those who produce or purchase them.

and the bimmer gets 30+ mpg highway, cause its a stick shift, which wasn't even offered in most comparable cars of that year.

and who says we aren't an oligarchy?

e34,

The US is a democracy, if you need someone to tell you that they hey sorry maybe you shouldn't vote.

What kind of city numbers do you get? Does it out do the V6 Camry/Maxmia/Accord of the same vintage? Are they top of the class? If not you are kinda being a hypocrite by coming down harsh on the Hummer trucks aren't you.

democracies allows all citizens equal access to power. our constitution may define us as a democracy (more specifically a constitutional republic), but you need $$$ (usually inherited)to have access to power in this nation. that's why i'd say we are closer to an oligarchy.

i don't really consider the camry/accord/maxima in the same class as 5 series, but i get 20+ mpg city. and my issue wasn't that the HUMMER was less efficient than other vehicles in its class, but that it was a vanity SUV that epitomizes the average american's disregaurd for conserving finite resources.

i have never seen a contractor use an H2 or H3. i've seen trailor trash trying to look rich driving them. i'm sure theyre semi-practical for someone with a half dozen children, but thats not what theyre being used for.

the hummer seats 5 and averages 15 mpg. the bimmer seats 5 and averages 26 mpg. neither are driven off road.

But 1 could be. The two fit very different parts of the market. Just because it doesn't fit your needs doesn't mean it doesn't fit someones.

I think that the hummer has come along way, but at the same time its just another vehicle that will hold 30% percent of its value after 9 months of owning it. I sell Nissans, pontiacs, bmws and hyundais. There are the best vehicles you can buy for the money. Dont get me wrong I still love my Hondas and even most GMs but peoples eyes with the market right now are so false its all perception. The Hummer is over marked in alot of ways and should be built only for the military!!! Designing this vehicle was not ment for the public.

Talking about GM, this morning I was starting the Tahoe, and it didn't work... Turned out the battery power is low ( it hasn't been a year for god's sake ). And last week, the same thing happened to the family's SRX. AC delco batteries suck.

except H1, all other hummers are not even that good offroad. Infact H2 is very average and H3 is not the class leader, lost out to both FJ cruiser and Wrangler on several off road comparison tests.

Land Cruiser, FJ, Wrangler, Pajero, Nissan Patrol...etc are better and more capable offroaders than Hummers.

Do you have any articles showing the H2 is 'average' or the H3 not being an offroad class leader? All the articles I have seen have degraded both vehicle's onroad manners but praised them offroad.

I may succeed that the Wrangler is a better offroader and the FJ may match the H3 but I don't think I would consider the Land Cruiser in quite the same category as even the H2. Doesn't the LC starts where the H2 tops out at price wise? I would consider the LC a H1 competitor but that is just me.

Do they still all come with the "I have a small penis" bumper sticker?
