It was revealed by Citroen that it intends to install a diesel hybrid powertrain to the C4-sized Citroen DS5 family hatchback, the second model in its latest DS sub-brand.
Citroen recognizes that hybrid technology plays an essential role in their anticipation of a hybrid diesel powertrain which will come with the DS5 beginning in 2011. The carmaker’s hybrid diesel technology was introduced in its Citroen C4 WRC Hybrid 4 concept, which has earned the title first hybrid rally car in the world, and can run exclusively on electric power on road sections between stages. The concept was showcased at the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show to demonstrate the hybrid capabilities of Citroen.
