Hyundai Maintains Forward Progress Up 1.3% For June
Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 50,033 for the month of June, a 1.3 percent
increase over the same record-setting period last year and best sales month
ever.

"As consumers continue to shift to smaller cars, our most fuel-efficient vehicles -- Accent, Elantra and Sonata -- continue their upward trend with increases of 70 percent, 51 percent and 12 percent respectively over last year," said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America's vice president of national sales.

"We are very pleased with our record-setting results for June, breaking the 50,000 mark, and look forward to building on this trend."

All have significant drops (note Veracruz and Entourage) yet their bread and butter not only sells more overall but has shot up enough to off set it.

At this point, it seems like Hyundai would be better off following the Honda business model vs. Toyota.

I will never buy anything from this car company.

If they don't want American beef then I don't want their cars or anything else.

EL34,

It's not like Koreans dont want American beef at all. They just dont want to import beef coming from cows 30 months and older. Even American agency dont allow it in dog foods, let alone on people's dietary staple. Plus, Korean people are very apprehensive about Mad Cow Disease which was found in American beef a couple of years ago. So, in that sense, South Koreans are protesting with reasonable concern. Also, have you ever been to South Korea. They LOVE beef, (Korean BBQ, anyone?) so it makes sense for them to be sensitive about this issue. It is a $1 Billion+ market we are talking about, man.

Anyhow, anit-beef protest is more of manifestation of anger and frustration towards Korean government than towards American beef. But, in all fairness, the quality of american beef isn't top grade compared to other country's beef (Argentina, Japan, New Zealand, Australia). That's why nobody wants British beef. I mean, if British people comment that they wouldn't buy American goods because we dont import their beef is un reasonable. Likewise, South Koreans are protesting with same mentality. As for me, I LOVE to eat @ Korean BBQ restaurants in Koreatown, USA. Yum, Yum....
