Hyundai to offer high-performance track version of Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Hyundai recently invited 20 aftermarket companies to its North American headquarters in Fountain Valley, California to measure the capabilities of the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Calling it the official SEMA measuring session for the company’s latest rear-wheel-drive coupe, Hyundai said it really wanted to get aftermarket companies a head start on the Genesis Coupe.

Unveiled at the 2008 New York Auto Show, the base Hyundai Genesis coupe is powered by a 4-cylinder turbo that produces 223 horsepower along with a range-topping 3.8 liter V6 version producing 310 horsepower.

“If you look under the hood, there’s more room to do stuff,” said John Espino of Gale Banks Engineering. Espino said that his company is already working on a supercharger for the V6 Genesis Coupe along with a upgrades for the 4-cylinder turbocharger and intercooler on the four-cylinder model.

I was fortunate to be able to go to the event and the car is going to sell like hotcakes. The car is a aftermarket tuners dream. As mentioned in the article, there is so much room in the engine bay for aftermarket parts, the Brembo brakes are top-notch and the car looks fast standing still.

^^^Reliability? Not an after market tuner's dream if it is not reliable, it will be a nightmare. One of the reasons why the Honda's and Toyota engines are the bee's knees.

Uh, where have u been bud? They have been standing out recently with their reliability. Don't get jealous now... Do you really think they would be that stupid to loose tons of money to warranty an unreliable car?

Long warranties are merely sales gimmick.. I mean, look at Suzuki... they have the same warranty but their cars are CRAP!

Mitsu's Evo X has same engine as Genesis Coupe.

It handles 300+HP just fine....

Where have you been?, Hyundai is #1 non-premium brand since early 2002. With the intro of Sante Fe in 2001 they've been receiving top ranking in reliability and owner satisfaction, in 2006 they place third after Porsche/Lexus for JD Power Initial quality.

It's nice to see Hyundai coming up like they have. I like to look of the Genesis Coupe ALOT. I'd really like to test one out. As I'm not a fan of coupes in general, this one could win me over!
