As 2009 progresses, it seems that it is becoming more apparent which U.S. manufacturers are proliferating, while others are failing. For instance, Ford seems to have a leg up on the other two auto makers while Chrysler is on life support thanks to Fiat.
So, what's the next shoe to drop?
But more important than who's next is what can they do to attempt to side-step the issue? Although the partnership with Fiat is a good start, to say it is going to bring the company back to fruition and out of the grave is optimistic at best.
When looking at the breakdown at Chrysler Corp., it is clear as day that its portfolio is holding one too many brands. So, who will give the manufacturer the most return on investment? Who will have the next groundbreaking vehicle? With what we know offhand, forget finances, what unit has had the most successful models?
