why doesnt Infiniti just drop the 3.7L motor in the sedan adn boost even more sales. it would seem like the most logical strategy

I think you will see that engine in the sedan in a year or so.

Still an amazing value in a sea of ever-inflating entry-luxury prices.

The G37 is tempting...

It is smart. They sell a new body stile in 2007, then update the engine for 2009. That gives people a reason to keep on buying the car and keep sales climbing. It will also be a huge change to a 2 year old car that does not cost allot of development dollars. They will get a huge bang for their buck on that change. They won't say anythign to anyone about it for at least another year because it will stall sales of the 2008.

I'd rather buy the G35 with Nissan's 2.5L V6 that would give great gas mileage with reasonable performance. Come on Infiniti, if Lexus can do it (IS250) you can too!

That would be the G25. I think it makes sense, but I'd rather have a diesel. The IS250 is too slow, and I can't imagine the G25 being much faster. Strangely, the A4 2.0T, 328i and C300 have very nice power bands. I guess the Germans are just better with smaller engines?

value in regards to just price is not much value at all. Although the G35 is a nice car, from a driving persepctive it doesnt really compare to well to the BMW, which is the benchmark for the compact sports sedan market. If infiniti wants to really impact sales from bmw, then they have to build a car that is not only priced right but with a suspension that fits the engine in the car. Right now they have a good engine but with a suspension and steering system that, sucks. The one problem is that in order to do such a thing, means infiniti G would probably cost alot more, which then puts them out of the market. such the dilemna
