Infiniti EX Concept SUV - Official pics
Infiniti’s all-important EX Concept has broken loose as pictures of the car have found their way into several sites this morning, prior to its New York Show debut. Poised below the FX and aimed directly at BMW’s X3 and the upcoming Mercedes MLK & Audi Q5 compact SUVs, the EX is based on Nissan’s advanced Front Midship (FM) platform. It’s expected that the production version of the EX Concept will go on sale towards the end of the year where it will be offered with Nissan's 3.5 V6. Due to the fact that the EX will also be available in Europe, expect a diesel option too. Read Article

I like the look of it, I just wonder if it will follow the same fate as the RDX.

No because this has a V6, the RDX has a turbo 4 cyl. I know that is silly that it would sell better because of engine size, but I firmly think that when someone looking for a luxury car hears Turbo 4 cyl, they don't take it seriously. When they hear 307 hp V6, then they can take it seriously.

We're getting this in Europe? But we don't even get Infiniti...

Yep, Carlos Ghosn announced last year that Infiniti will start operations in Europe during 2008

ooooo, a Lexus competitor. It will be very interesting to see how Infiniti does in Europe, to see if it's just Lexus that can't make headway or whether it's just a general thing.

Just to say, no one in Europe has ever heard of Infiniti, at all. I've only ever seen one, and that was an FX in a specialist car dealership.

I think 2.2 dci is good, but also the 3.0 v6 dci in a car this size that is premium. Would be a good flagship engine.

Great looking crossover.
A blend of FX and All new G35 Coupe.

It will be a hit.

It won't be an FX replacement. It looks too small to be a replacement. The QX56 is a full size but that is what needs to be changed, not creating an "EX" concept. The QX is basically the Pathfinder Armada with luxury bits and pieces and a new front end. You put them side by side you see that it's awfully alike for the price gap. They should be more like the Lexus-Toyota partnership. A like in some ways but different in a lot of other ways. The new Altima coupe resembles the new G37 coupe as well but a lot more played down. It doesn't have the luxury appeal of the G but I think when production comes along it will be a hit amongst the import tuner scene. The Altima is also a cheaper alternative to the G.
