Infiniti FINALLY developing a Q45 replacement?
Infiniti, like Lexus is trying to go global. To do that, and to achieve prestige status, it needs more products. A successor to the lagging Q45 has finally been confirmed. We hope it will be radically redesigned in the same manner as the M45 was back in 2004....with performance to match. Read Article

Infiniti should bring the Q before the 2007 G35, that could add more IGO to infiniti G35 buyers, just my thought

As a owner of a 99 Q45...I can't wait....It's a very good car...I also own a S430 and a 645ci..I drive the Q the most (645 looks the best)....Infiniti reminds me of a Japanese BMW...meaning performance 1st and then luxury....Lexus is more like a Merc....luxury then performance...though don't kill me merc fans....mercs are a total combination of the two.

I hope you're wrong as well because the Infiniti brand desperately needs a flagship sedan that's in contention against the LS and the European luxury saloons. G35/FX/M are the only models basically keeping it afloat. To boost brand image to be known as a true luxury contender the Q (if successful) will bring Infiniti up a few notches. The 2004 Q45 I've seen around a few times. It does turn heads because it's so rare. I love the front end machine gun LED headlights but the rear is hideous. The interior was not too bad but could have used a lot more work.

I can't wait for the new one to come out.

There are no LED headlights in the Q45.

I don't know why I'm having this feeling, but I think the next generation Q45 will fail just likes its predecessor, but I hope I'm wrong.

The last Q45 design was hideous compare to other lineup in Infiniti. Let hope it better than the last Q45.

Infiniti is an excellent brand, really they have done so much in such little time..With a new Q as there flagship car, Infiniti will be feared, and guessing from thier most recent products, it comes with a 100% certainty...

Feared by whom? Despite being superior in terms of performance, the Q45 has never bested any of the LS sedans in terms of sales, luxury or prestige.

Accumulitively, they sell about 50,000 cars outside of the US annually. A bit pathetic IMO.

Can't you see a difference between THE WORLD and biggest MARKET in THE WORLD? I'd say the former is just a "tad" more important...

They should wait on the Q45, they need more styling direction before they make such a huge investment. I don't know if people are going to be ready to put down 70+ for an Infiniti. They have enough on thier plate as it is.

This should be interesting. Hopefully, Infiniti (Acura, be listening) will make the most of this idea and create a fantastic flagship sedan. I'd never think of an Infiniti as an S-Class competitor... oh, how times change!

I got de-boosted for what, stating my opinion without mentioning anything else? Is it something as small as "never think of an Infiniti as an S-Class competitor..." that sets you de-boosters off?

Ive only seen 1 current Q45 on the road. It doesnt impress me in anything really. Infiniti needs a car like this for its image. I would never serously consider infinti if they didnt have a flagship sedan. It needs something to compare with the big luxury makers (mb, bmw, audi, maybe lexus). They can make cars that handle well, so make it handle well, comfortable and you ll have a car that sells.

As far as I am concerned the current flagship for infiniti is the M45. I have had one for over a year and a half and it does not stop impressing me. I have driven some of the best luxury and sports cars in the world and for the money it is very impressive. If they can take what they did with the M class and turn it up for the new Q45 they can have a winner. The lexus is a great product but it is not a TRUE drivers car in the conversation with BMW for example. Listen up Infiniti take your time and do it right and they can produce a killer car. Read the car magazines and the M class has won multiple comparisons against all the rivals, BMW 5 series, Audi A6, Cadi STS Mercedes E class and Lexus GS as well as Acura RL. If they can capture this in the New Q I think people might consider it for real.

well, Infinti can make good cars, they make the best midsize lux car M35/45, it has the performance and quality unlike MB and BMWs, E-class and seris are great cars, but they lack many thing, such as not reliable at all, Audi is better than these two germans

Midsize luxury sedans, IMO, in rank:

1. Mercedes E-Class
2. Audi A6 / BMW 5 Series / Infiniti M (triple tie)
5. Lexus GS
6. Cadillac STS
7. Acura RL
8. Jaguar S-Type
9. Volvo S80
10. Saab 9-5 (if you consider it a competitor)

How was I wrong? Our lists are quite similar. I don't think the 5 Series is at the top- E is better-looking, drives almost as well and has a much better interior. It's the best sport/luxury fusion.

The CTS isn't in this class.

A6? I think the 3.2 is boring, but the 4.2 and sleek Avant make up for that. Also, it's not really aging at all. Pretty fresh to me.

The ES isn't in this class, and the Infiniti is clearly better than the GS.

I have a feeling your picks are rated out of snobbiness- brand prestige, not the actual car.

Oh and, your grammar is wrong, as usual.

Oh and, the A6 won World Car of the Year in 2005, the first car ever to win that award... I didn't see the 5 Series, or any other car on that list, win that...

there's no way the E is infront of the M, its good but without AMG in back, its after

1. 5 series
2. M45
3. E or GS
4. who cares

just as "Eyes are windows to the soul" among humans, the eyes (headlights) of cars are a major defining feature of the cars' styling.

observation: german cars' lights have always tended to be conservative. when they do dare to experiment, too often the results are strange (bmw's 'dame ednas') or dated after just a few short years (mb quad lights). once in a great while, the innovations are quite successful. (boxster)

japanese lites have been conservative too. when they experiment, the results have sometimes been strange as well. but more often, the results are fresh and pleasing, and the cues taken up by other brands.

someone out there seems to really dislike the Q's "gatling gun" lites. but the extended diamond housings of toyotas and lexi seem to have found general acceptance, and even imitation.

PLEASE, Infinit, take your time and do it right with the next Q45.
I still love and drive my '91 Q45t, but she is deserving of semi-retirement. I want to replace her with another Q, but Audi sure is looking good to me right about now.
