Infiniti G37 Convertible to be revealed on August 16th
Infiniti confirmed that it is indeed building a convertible version for its 2009 Infiniti G lineup. In its press release, Nissan said that the car will debut at the 2008 LA Auto Show in November. However, according to InsideLine, the hardtop droptop G37 may debut earlier then that - and sooner than you expected.

Infiniti’s spokesman Josh Clifton told InsideLine that the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible will make its public debut at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance - that’s August 16th and about 5 days for those of you that don’t want to count. The 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible will hit showrooms in mid-2009.

Clifton also said that Pebble Beach will also hold the reveal for the...

Rebadged or not, it's one of hell of an EXCELLENT vehicle!

No, this is an Infiniti and Nissan later rebadged it in Japan as a Nissan.

Imagine if there was no G and the only competitors were American cars and other German/Italian cars would you miss G?

350zdon17:

I am only trying to make people realize that just by having the presense of Miss gorgeous G in our beautiful country (soon Europe) some of us have come to hate her and call her names and try to say she will never be as good as the 3. Why the hostility? Miss G is here to stay and she is ready to show all of us that there is another beauty in town!

didn't have intent to be nasty just read question and saw it as you meaning no one would care if the car was no longer here...like it doesn't make a mark in the luxury market...still friends =)

I'm with you AmazonPrinceIS350 (I think)...As a '08 G35xS owner, I can't believe the negativity that surfaces on the G - "it'll never be as good as a 3 Series, etc, etc, etc". That's BS - it's a better all around vehicle than a 3...I've driven them all - extensively - 3 Series, A4s, the new C-Class...The combo of true sport sedan & luxury (when "required") can't be beat...

@43LE

The skyline has been in production in Japan since 1957, so it was way before infiniti. And the first G came out in 2001 Japan and 2003 US.

But whats the problem, they are excpencive nissan, the G/skyline M/fuga and Q/cima. And they have no conection to US nissan's

Another piece of garbage(now in convertible form) from the maker of the worst sounding engine in the history of the automobile the 3.5/3.7 VQ engine that powers the overpriced, under-performing, cheaply built G35/37 rebadged Nissans.

So "F1 drivel" what I'm getting is that you are here because you don't have a life. That sounds about right considering the "quality" of your posts. I guess you and "STJ88" can join the loser club where huu76 and MichaelTaylor also happen to be members.

What always amazes me on this site is the hatred that the fanboys have for eachother. Without competitors like Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes would have far less incentive to continue the innovations they make in their vehicles. Without BMW making those innovations, Infiniti wouldn't be pushing their products to the next level either. Bottom line: competition is good. I'm looking forward to the G37 convertible and the 2010 G37 hybrid sedan.

I wonder what kind of mental disease can do so much damage to make somebody believe that Infiniti competes with a brand like BMW...WOW!

Let's see...if that's a disease then a lot of people have caught it. Last I checked, the M45 beat the 5-series in most comparisons and the G35 is considered an equal to the 335. They're both great cars in their own right. Not sure why you feel the need to talk trash.

"I wonder what kind of mental disease can do so much damage to make somebody believe that Infiniti competes with a brand like BMW...WOW!"

With comments from star, staar and maybe michaeltaylor, this is the reason of why I don't come here as often. Their level of childlessness in their comments has broken a record. What a disgrace to this site.

Htay7500 "He resorts to name calling"

Who are you talking with? Your Barbie doll?
Name calling??? So you insult me by putting me next to people like Staar or MichaelTaylor who repeat the same thing in every post they make and then claim that I am the one calling you names? Are you on drugs?
Just because you are an Infiniti cheerleader and believe their cars are good doesn't mean that Infiniti is a truly a BMW rival. I will say it again: Infiniti is pure garbage and anybody who knows cars agrees with me. You will never find a car enthusiast who will consider a car like Infiniti as an option when shopping for cars like BMW and Mercedes. Get real!

No. They hurt my asthma.

"Infiniti is pure garbage and anybody who knows cars agrees with me. You will never find a car enthusiast who will consider a car like Infiniti as an option when shopping for cars like BMW and Mercedes."

That obviously sounds like an opinion. Its ok if you can't accept reality, we understand you'll feel really offended if Infiniti is compared to BMW.
