Infiniti M35 to get 303-hp V6 VQ35HR engine
Currently the 2008 Infiniti ‘M’ is available in two choices including a 275-hp M35 and a 325-hp M45. According to TCC, that is about to change very soon.
The M35 will drop its 3.5 liter V6 in favor for the new V6 VQ35HR engine found in the current G35 sedan and the G37 coupe. That will give the M35 an additional 28 horsepower for a total of 303 with a peak torque of 262 lb-ft.
No word on whether the M45 engine will be upgraded. But if it does we’d put our money on the...

why can't the Japanese design a nice looking car? these supposed luxo cars just can't compete with the CTS and the Euro brands.

It really is a nice car, best Infiniti interior hands-down, and, a really nice interior when compared to some of the industry leaders as well.

I guess I am farther out of the loop than I thought. I didnt know the m35 had what I assume was the last gen g35 unit. Why wouldnt they just put the 3.7 in it?

I've always wondered why the Infinitis we get here in Dubai are more powerful. For example, our M35/G35's V6 engine produces 327hp, while the V8 in the M45 produces 360+hp.

M53R, I'm not pretending to know anything about cars in Dubai(other than I would like to drive one there sometime;) but could it be the way the engines are rated? I am sure you know about the SAE ratings here, do you have something similar there?

It's also possible that they rate CP instead of HP.
(Please know that if anyone gets what I'm saying, it's only a joke.)

i THINK THATS A SMART MOVE WE BECAUSE THE CARS IN ITS CLASS RANGE IS COMING WITH 300 HP......NISSAN MAKES A NICE SPORTY ENGINE SO I DONT THINK THIS ONE SHOULD FALL SHORT OF ANYTHING ELSE THEY PUT OUT THERE

The VQ is junk it sounds worn out when pushed to the limits like I said before. I thought the M35 was suppose to have a rumored 315HP atleast the TL SH-AWD version has out HP and out torqued the M!Honda J series now thats an engine

Ha, you're starting to sound like MichaelTaylor.
If people at Acura are not praying, they should because they will need a miracle to catch up. I know there's no need to defend Nissan engines. But how many years in a row is that they win best engine (VQ)? I think is up to 15 or close to it.

How dare you compare the two..the M is a rear wheel drive luxury sport sedan. The TL (and yes, i have owned 2)is the most boring front wheel drive "luxury sedan" in its class, which the only other in that class is the Lexus ES350. (they are both front wheel drive). and believe me Mikey I would pick an ES over a TL anyday, and not just because Lexus is superior to Acura, but it's 2 or 3 year old design ES looks wayyyyyyy better than the NEWLY redesigned TL.
M and TL dont compare. In fact all Acuras are in a class by themselves... A "Luxury" FRONT WHEEL DRIVE class and their designs get an F

I've got an 06 M35 Sport...great car (although I do agrre I do like the slightly reducled new tail lights). I beleive the reason they have not "dropped" in the 3.7 engine has something to do with the transmission in the car which is the 5 speed. Most of the 3.7 cars have been getting a 7 speed. Plus, I beleve the M is due for a redesign for 2010. Assuming V8s don't become dinosaurs, Niss/Inf will be consistant withe their engine choice of M37 and M50 for next model. I've been reading BMW / MB is drastically reducing V8, V10, V12 production in future models.
Should be a crazy next couple of years for the auto industry!
