Well, obviously people looking at the FX can't get a sports car because they need the space. That's stupid. Why don't people buying Cayennes get Caymans instead? They would if they could (I hope).

Why buy either? I'd get a 535xi Touring and call it day.

You, sir, are spot-on.

I would personally get an S4 Avant and purchase a nice vacation with the money I saved.

True. Much better handling, looks, and gas mileage. You won't save much cheddar as the 535xi MSRP starts at $54,000 and nicely equipped at $62,000.

If I was ever to buy an SUV and I had to choose between the two, I'd take the FX! I don't know what it is, but the X6 is just seriously misproportioned! That rear end looks like somebody did something wrong when programming the production robots! May be he fell a sleep causing the roofline to sloap down in the rear - HMM...

The only reason they're sold out everywhere is because dealerships are in the business of making a profit. And you can't do that with old stock.

Now when those dealerships are sold out, then maybe BMW might have a good thing on their hands. Until then, selling out from the manufacturer to the dealer doesn't mean "squat".

no many dealers are sold out of the X6 and the ones are getting them they arent lasting long....and also your point makes no sense...it is a loss for a dealership to keep getting in new stock when the old ones havent sold they are charged to hold the cars many dealerships dont actually own their fleet of new cars.....do some research

in my opinion bmw X6 and infinty fx aren`t competitors . infinty fx competes rather with bmw X5 . bmw X6 competitor is mercedes cls becouse they are both do for the same customers who prefer "form over function" . bmw wanted only to follow this coupe fashion ( started by mercedes cls ) making coupe SUV instead of sedan coupe like porsche panamera and aston martin .

"The equivalent X6 and FX are not even close in price"

There is no such thing as equivalent X6 and FX. The X6 is a luxury car built at the highest standards while the FX is just a re-badged economy car.

Like I said before, the X6 is pure Econo-Car Trash.

The poor-mans alternative for people who can't afford a Porsche.

Just an ugly reincarnation of the AMC Eagle and Pontiac Aztek.

StarStar - 6/6/2008 9:39:29 PM
-2 BoostDrop the Boost Up the Boost
There is a problem with your definition of a "poor man". Even if somebody cannot afford a Porsche is still doing pretty good if he can "roll" in a new BMW.

"Roll", is that what the 3rd graders are saying these days to sound cool?

The rebadged 1-Series X6 sounds like a great car for people with 3rd grade mental abilities. I guess they enjoy Econo-Car trash.

You are probably referring to the rebadged Murano, the Infiniti FX. Even you cannot be crazy enough to call BMW "econo-car"

If you like Econo-Car trash like the X6, good for you. It is just an ugly rebadged 1-Series. In a few years it should be a really popular Taxi in Europe, just like all the other cheap Econo-Car BMW's.

Too bad they were inspired by the AMC Eagle and Pontiac Aztek.

StarStar - 6/6/2008 9:44:55 PM
-4 BoostDrop the Boost Up the Boost
I don't care about the X6 but we are still talking about a luxury car made by BMW and I find it ridiculous to compare it with a rebadged Nissan Murano.

The rebadged 1-Series X6 is just Econo-Car trash, pure and simple.

Okay for poor people who can't afford the real thing like a Porsche. I guess some people miss the AMC Eagle and Pontiac Aztek.

A rebadged 1-Series just can't compete with the FX. That is why it already lost 2 times.

wow "rebadged this and rebadged that..." who cares? A murano is still a very reliable car anyway and is built with quality. I'm going with the FX50
