They need smaller engines. The Audi A6L 2.4 and BMW 520Li are the sedans that really sell well there.

They need to introduce more vehicle to the US. 1 - a car that will adequately compete against the better selling (LESS POWER) BMW 328, Lexus IS250 and Acura TL. Secondly they need an SUV that will compete more closely with the Best selling RX and the MDX. That would have been a better market for the EX to go after (not the RDX and X3). Also, Im not a fan of the bland looking QX. I think it should offer a smaller sportier version to compete with the X5 and Porsche Cayenne. They can likely also keep the current QX but give it a redesign also. Not sure about Infiniti and its success with a Q car to go against BMW 7 and Lexus LS. However I think a ES330 competitor might be nice. Also they need to FOCUS on great fuel economy without the loss of performance for all of these vehicles.

Wow...I sure am glad that you dont work for Infiniti.

1. They dumped their ES competitor, the rebadged Maxima/Ciefero, aka I35. Infiniti is committed to all RWD performance sedans, and that's a good thing.

2. Do you know the FX exists? That is their Cayenne/X5 (now X6, really) competitor.

3. The EX will sell very well. For an Infiniti, an interior with this much praise is a huge accomplishment.

4. A 2.5L engine in the G would be good for MPG averages, but it may hurt the brand image. The G35 is a bargain as is.

5. Ok, I do agree with you, the QX56 sucks. It reminds me of the new Navigator. Boring behemoth. A different SUV, with a 3rd row, more like the Q7 or X5 (because the X6 takes the spot the X5 use to have). That would give them a good line up.

The I35 can be a rear wheel drive vehicle. Likely a 2.5 engine could be cheaper than the 3.5 engine making it a success and also a great value. Most non car enthusiest dont look to have all that power. The FX is a crossover, I dont put it up against a x5 but maybe it should be... Much smaller in my opinion and it doesnt offer X5 kind of space.

M35: the qx is just a glorified armada.

and where would the I35 slot in?

"A 2.5L engine in the G would be good for MPG averages, but it may hurt the brand image. The G35 is a bargain as is."

M35, I agree with everything else you said, but a G25 (or diesel G) would make a ton of sense. Regardless of how inexpensive the G35 is, not everybody wants/needs a gas-guzzling 300hp engine in their car. At the very least, a torquey diesel should be introduced for the G, M and EX or FX.

Htay: I know that

And the I35 is not getting back in. Infiniti has moved on.

im an old g35 coupe owner of 03. but, infiniti lost my respect when they introduced the altima coupe. the 350z was enough and now this? they look too much alike....what the hell are you thinking over there?!

I agree with the two posters above. I recenly bought a IS250 but would have preferred a Infiniti G25 if one were available.
Lets face it, a car with the power of the IS250 is more than adequate in the power dept. if you're not interested in drag racing, also the mileage is terrific. Sadly, the same cannot be said of the IS350 and G35..they are gas hogs. If I keep my car for 4 or 5 yrs what will gas prices be then? $4.50/gal??
In the energy situation the world finds itself in currently, it's hard to believe than Infiniti doesn't use its terrific 2.5 liter engine on the G35.

Is 20mpg city 28hwy really that bad? That's what my car was rated and I'm getting 24-25 on average.

What they really need to do is offer the 6spd manual on the G35x. What's the deal with so few manual AWD sport sedans?! Audi offers one, but its slow, and the bimmer is over $45k.

i am very surprised you can get 24-25 on average. i would like to know what's your average speed?

during normal driving condition (avg 25-30 mph), G35 will get 20 MPG, and that's pretty much as good as it gets. M35 will only get worse.

I have a Mazdaspeed3, I know my name is confusing and hints that I have an M35.

Your figures make sense for the G.

why you don't like infiniti, is it cause the going head to head with bmw or cause you afraid they might beat bmw and the up coming years

I hope they make something hideous or ridiculously complex so the Chinese companies have a harder time copying them...
