Is BMW making a mistake pricing the 1-series so close to the 3?

Thanks to the tipoff from our bud Lucca I decided to peruse the BMWUSA.
com website where you can now configure and build the new 128i and 135i cars.
Much to my chagrin after pricing one out with the options I would buy (see below), it only ended up being $3945 less than a 335i sedan!
$42k for a semi-loaded 135i seems way too much for a 1-Series and too close to the pricing of a 3-Series.
As good as the 135i is, based on these numbers, I would go right to the 335i sedan.
Do you agree?
