Is Lexus On The Verge of Releasing a 911 Killer with this Sexy Convertible?
If you think that Lexus is resting on any of it laurels and not ready to turn the market on it ear, then you have another thing coming.
The daring style of the LF-C luxury sports coupe concept car suggests where Lexus design is heading. The exterior features a confident stance and short overhangs, while the vehicle's performance resonates with the interior's Formula One–inspired styling and drive-by-wire steering. It lives up to its promise with the high-output, front-mounted V8 engine and six-speed sequential automatic transmission.

LOL. yeah the 911 needs to watch out. this will probably be the new SC. based on the performance of the old one, it's more of a cadillac XLR competitor.

I like the surfacing. Some of those cuts look sharp. The front and rear of all new lexus stuff I have reservations about, but overall I am glad lexus is searching for a style. Now lets hope they invest in it.

Ha I just realized I did not respond to the 911 comments. I am not trying to be divisive I just don't think this car stands a realistic chance of that, or that Lexus even considers that as a goal.

It's a pretty good looking concept, but who's to say it will actually make it to production without turning into another SC luxury car.

It was just a simple question.
No one ever said this was a brand new design, you took it to that level not us.
Also the tenor of your articles makes many of them unsuitable.

The tenor of the article? Many I have put in have been stuff that was fresh and not yet mentioned on here, only later in the day or next day see someone else posting the same news... maybe you are biased. I don't know. I have been on autospies a long time and the level of childishness here has increased ten fold!

Maybe the tenor was too mature and did not lend itself to a proper flame war... :)

Sometimes it seems like all this back and forth between the respctive fanboys gets increadibly tiring. Then this happens. The irony in this post is amazing. First off, this car sucks. Its a weak ass TT rip off. Second, the first sentence "if you think that Lexus is resting on any of it laurels and not ready to turn the market on it ear, then you have another thing coming" makes me smile ear to ear. We dont need to wait for "Agent" 009 to be proven wrong, it has already happened, years ago. Awesome. Thanks

I always have liked this concept. The new IS was the first new generation to utilize this design philosophy and I do like it. However if claims are that it's a 911 Killer that's a bold statement. Porsche has planted it's engine in the back and still made a car that handled well and performed well. This new LF-C/LF-A concept. can have a big V8 and all the goodies of an F badge but it will not beat a 911 in terms of a drivers car.
Whether many like to admit it or not, Porsche is an understated and under-rated supercar maker. Sure they produce more for the mass consumer. The only thing it lacks is the passion but engineering Porsche design is epic. The performance of the 911 Turbo and Carrera GT are astonishing!.
The LF-C should forget about competing against the Top model for Porsche but it will do well against the starting range which is impressive with the size engine and 325hp it's still at 4.8 seconds. Like someone mentioned above. An XLR would probably be a better competitor. If this is indeed the new SC it needs to prove a lot in all aspects to gain global recognition as a true sports coupe. The SL/6series/XK is all some heavy competition.
The LF concept does look nice though. I like to see form followed by function. All show but no go? I highly doubt that but can it handle bends like a grippy 911. We shall wait and see.

People please...when the bean counters get a hold of this the design will be watered down to what amounts to the high expressiveness of a new Camry. If you think Lexus will put out something this dramatic take a look at how the LF-A has 'evolved' to its most recent form. By the time you see one in production, it will be shapeless, design diminished and stylized for the masses, not the enthusiast.

AGENT 63 you must be a masochist to put this thread up. Challenge the 911! Do you like throwing a small child into a pack of ravenous wolverines too! Another GERMAN V. JAPANESE verbal war with the usual Lexus fanboys chiming in. I'm gonna go take a sh**. That is more interesting than reading this garbage pan out.

Who in the Hell has the nerve to call this a TT copy? This concept was designed way before the new TT was released. Don't even get me started on the immense title engineering that went on here... Grow some brains people.

The old TT concept was from 1995... my guess is, they started designing it in 1993. The new TT is simply an evolution of the concept, meaning it's about 14 years old. That's not really a valid argument.

I think its more than the petty Lexus fanboy crap that has changed the flavor of this site, the mods have seen a tremendous rise in traffic/revenue because of the heated Lexus inspired/fabricated threads...ultimately its up to the rest of us to resist posting on these threads (this one included as it was a simple effort to increase traffic and revenue by suggesting a rediculous comparison). Its our own fault for falling for the beautifully conceived traps the mods set for us and the insane fanboy taunts...maybe the sensible folks here will try to resist the urge to post in the future if we all really make the effort..right..

s4, there were many people here before you. since the site's make-over, a lot of screennames and passwords got fubared (mine included). ive said it before and ill say it again, these "articles" serve nothing more than to stir up mentally hadicapped people (formula1, mromar) into posting. it doesnt matter what they post so long as their visits and the visits of those they encourage produce hits to this site. how else can 009 or 001 whoever get offers from lexus and bmw for free rides to "review" them. as long as they can show the traffic this site generates, auto makers will believe they command a large audience (especially target audience).
so flame on people and maybe one day we can actually get a real review of a car, complete with pictures of the car and for some reason pictures of random buildings, dinner parties, and restaurants.

Porsche has nothing to worry about. It just looks like a updated SC. Nothing revolutionary, just evolutionary. Power should be high, but it'll need like .9 g's on the skidpadvto make Porsche worry, and good luck with a front mounted heavy v8.
