Is driving a minivan worse than death?
Let Peyton Manning give you or your friends a pep talk...Just type in you or your friends name at the prompt and choose the 'I drive a minivan' pep talk.
It is hysterical...you can email it to your friend and Manning even says their name in the video!
Everyone who drives a minivan NEEDS to see this!
Pass it on!

Personally, I've always thought minivans were very luxurious. Power tailgates, power doors, underfloor storage, adjustable second and third row seats, etc., but they're extremely ugly. I think that they should take the interior and all of the features of a minivan and put it in an SUV. That's just my opinion.

In that case you might want to read this review by a UK Auto Journalist

I have to admit, I agree with Mr Frankel .

Then it wouldn't BE an SUV anymore. It would be a minivan. What you really mean is to change the body of the minivan to look more like an SUV on the outside, but have all the "minivan" features on the inside. Sounds like a decked out Hummer!

No, that's not what I mean. I mean I want an SUV with rotating seats, 2nd and 3rd row DVD players, power doors (yes, they make them for non-sliding doors, too), underfloor storage, etc. Not an SUV-looking minivan.

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU DRIVE IT'S HOW YOU DRIVE IT!!!
A mini van (minus kids) at speed limit (+ 15mph) at 15° oversteer on a wet roundabout is more fun than an F430 on a wet roundabout in straight line 10mph under the limit.
Driving is like art, you can paint on the most expensive canvas, with the most expensive paints, using the most expensive brushes, but without passion, skill, ability and control, WHATS THE POINT?

i FULLY AGREE!
there's an adage: "It's far more fun pushing a slow car to go fast, than just loping along in a fast car."
it's also great fun driving WITH SKILL and embarrassing drivers of 'faster' vehicles with little "giant killers," modified OR stock.
i manage to do this on 2 wheels and 4. have not been beat by ANYTHING yet, when on my kawasaki ninja with ALL OF 0.25 liters of motor!
have also managed to surprise many, driving sis-in-law's old buick leSabre!
(i also get to enjoy a HUGE purchase and operating cost ADVANTAGE. and did i mention the FUN advantage?)

Just an observation -- quite a few minivan drivers tend to have kids and appear too tired to even enjoy driving , much less test its limits .

This report is about minivan with diesel engine which are not available in North America. In North America, only big V6s are available. In the hand of a proper driver, they can hussle. I remember reading about Dan Gurney enjoying renting minivans and racing them against sports coupe. He was saying how much he enjoyed flogging them arround.

Nothing wrong with a minivan. They are very practical and quite useful for hauling stuff besides kids. Effective PR by the SUV manufacturers have brainwashed people into thinking they need an SUV and minivans are not cool. I gave in to my wife, sold ours, and bought her a Grand Cherokee. Miss the room in the van and the gas mileage. If they added some horsepower and sportier handling, I'd take one over a SUV any day and maybe even my car.
