Is there an uglier pick truck made anywhere?
Honda has always been known for driving dynamics and quality engineering but I have really not enjoyed their styling of late. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse this happens. So tell me have you seen anything uglier than this in the last few years? Read Article

Honda needs a new chief of design. All their grilles are ugly.

I wouldn't call it the ugliest ever...remember the Nissan Frontier?

Honda should just give it up. It's a market not worth wasting the R&D on. People who need real trucks will buy Big3 trucks, this is just a niche truck for the liberal-surfer dude who thinks that because its Japanese, he's saving the environment.

Do the agents proofread the submissions before posting? "Pick truck" is such a blatant error.

I honestly don't think the Ridgeline is that bad. If you really think about it, it only has one unappealing angle on it: the side. The front is decent looking, and I find the back very attractive. The interior is nicely laid out and I really like the inbed trunk. Like I said, the only problem with the Ridgeline is the side view of it.

The Asian brands know practicality and efficiency...not looks, dynamics, or overall enjoyment!

Its not a good truck you cant tow much with it and its bed is a joke.

Its just a Pilot/MDX with the rear roof scooped out.
Its not for the "real pickup buyer" but its the perfect rig for your mom who occasionally wants to bring home a few bags of potting soil, or for carrying that long-haired, stinky dog around without gagging from the smell inside the vehicle.

I think the Honda designers have a sense of humour: the original Ridgeline looked more like a "Magic Giant Flying Robot" from the Japanese kids' movies than a truck grille!

'Its not for the "real pickup buyer" but its the perfect rig for your mom who occasionally wants to bring home a few bags of potting soil, or for carrying that long-haired, stinky dog around without gagging from the smell inside the vehicle.'

So essentially it's the perfect pick-up for the majority of pick-up buyers, most of whom do not need a 'real' pick-up.

Exactly!
Its the same layout as the Ford Explorer "Sport Trac", but better mileage being a lighter FWD unit.

The Sport Trac is a realer (is that a word?) truck than this thing will ever be. At least I can get a Sport Trac with a V8 and 7000 lb towing capacity.

ShredmoShredmo - 7/18/2008 10:19:23 AM
+2 BoostDrop the Boost Up the Boost
Point is, most people don't need that. (Sport Trac V8, 7,000lbs tow cap)

IMO, if you want a V8, and 7,000lbs towing cap. why not get a F-150? Similar mpg, similar cost, bigger bed, etc. I've towed 6,000lbs w/ an Explorer (basically a sport trac) as well as 6,000 lbs w/ a full size. A truck the size of an Explorer was a little scary at times, though capable, while the full size was a picnic.

Oh, I agree with you! If you're going to buy a Ford truck, dont dick around. Just get an F150. But there is a significant size and price difference as well as conveniences like bed height. I do a considerable amount of towing myself. My argument was that when pulling say 5000lbs, the Sport Trac will be a piece of cake compared to the Ridgeline. Not only because of the extra power but the overhead towing capacity usually translates into an easier tow.

Correction:

And seriously. You're worse than MichealTaylor. At least he finds a couple Mercedes models attractive. You on the other hand bash everything not Japanese.
Your people LOVE German cars in Japan. In fact, they prefer Mercedes and BMW to Lexus. So shut up you troll. Hopefully your English translator will translate everything correctly.

I have a 1-ton VW double-cab flat-deck truck.
Its been through 5 sets of tires, 3 batteries, 2 exhaust systems and 1 timing belt (and a few sets of brakes).
I've driven it from Canada to Mexico and back.
I bought it new in 1992.
It was rear-ended by an S-10 that was written off (completely twisted end-to-end) but I drove the VW to the insurance company. It just needed minor body work, lights, and paint.
It seats 5 in much more room than a Chev or Ford Crew-cab.
It has NEVER broken down.
Its been air-born off-road.
In fact, it spent over 50% of its first 2 years off-road installing underground electrical power to house sites BEFORE the roads were installed. (10 to 160 acre properties)

Its now 16 years old and everywhere I go I have people begging me to sell it.
I have owned Datsun/Nissan and Toyota trucks (gas and diesel) but VW trucks are as tough as anything else.

GET SOME FACTS BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT GERMAN TRUCKS!

Your only German truck in the US now is the Dodge Sprinter (the VW LT that MB bought from VW for over 12 years now, before shipping them to US as Freightliner and then Dodge)

"German brand never made pickup truck"

Why would BMW, Mercedes, Audi make a pickup?
Much like how Lexus would never have a pickup in its lineup.
As for the VW Robust, it's NOT a copy of the Toyota Hilux. VW engineers put a Hilux body over the VWs chassis to confuse idiots like you. It is also intended for markets outside the U.S.A.

Also, Japanese pickups do not sell well in the United States. In fact, most sell poorly. Fact is, many Americans see Japanese trucks as imitators.
The Ridgeline was a complete failure. The Tundra doesn't even sell half of what the Ford F150 does. The Titan was also a failure compared to the Ram, F150, and the Silverado.

"You got owned by me"
No. You just got "owned". Troll.

I don't see anything wrong with Honda's design as of late, I actually really like the Pilot, the Accord looks just as an Accord should look, and the Civic doesn't look "bad" for what you pay by any means.

Pics of the new Pilot make it look gawdawful, but in person it is decent looking. It has a very original design, which I really appreciate.

I make a pick up truck?
Speak English please. Thank you.

The Ridgeline was a FAILURE btw.
The Tundra, Frontier, Titan are all facing disappointing sales compared with the American trucks.
The Tacoma is nice, I'll give you that.

Audis slower? Than what? Your POS Honda?
My BMW 335i is most likely faster than any car you have.
I once had a 1994 Acura Legend. It was a nice car, but quite frankly I like the driving feel of German cars much better. With the money I pay for my BMW and two Audis, I could easily have gotten a Lexus/Acura/Infiniti. But I chose not to because they didn't appeal to me as much as they did.

What do you do for a living? Oh thats right. You work at a McDonalds chain in Tokyo selling whale burgers.
You are a loser. You have to much time on your hands and bash German cars because all you can afford is a 1992 Lexus.

Once again, please speak proper English.
I cannot understand you.

I am 42 years old, married, and have three children.
I am a pharmacist and live in Southern California.
My kids do play with toy cars, thank you for telling me that. I can afford any Japanese car under $70,000; I choose to buy German.

Whats a Beetle Turtle? Is it like that Civic you call an Acura?

Actually, I think you need viagra SuperGT.
The car brand with the oldest drivers is LEXUS. Idiot.
Audi drivers have a higher average education and have a higher average income than Acura, Lexus, and Infiniti drivers. Troll.

SuperGay drives a 1977 Honda and thinks its an Acura.
He masturbates to Pokemon girls and eats whale sperm everyday. His brain is deformed because of all the radiation from Hiroshima.

There is no VW called a turtle. I don't need viagra unlike you.
I drive a BMW and two Audis. What do you drive?
I could have bought any Lexus/Acura/Infiniti if I really wanted to. Unlike you, I am not a loser.

Go down to your local honda dealer and drive the Ridge.I'm sure that most you haters will buy one.Nice
interior,extremely powerful 3.5 engine,a more advanced
VTM4 than the Pilot that send 90% of the engine torque to the rear weel when pulling, towing or passing. You must know about cars to love the ridge.By the way the base ridge start at $26000.00 and believe me that's cheap
