Amazing that Ford never thought of this. LOL
Just shows the new management will be better as evidenced by a simple logical decision

Did Ford have a need for Jag's headquarters to be closer to detroit?

No dummy they had their operations mainly on the west coast with an ancillary center in Mawa, NJ. Made no sense. The primary should have been in NJ and the other in Cali.

globalization happens to be big right now. Not that I agree with it. But there are risks that are mitigated by having some operations at alternate sites. Yes NJ is closer than Cali to Detroit but maybe that wasnt an issue for them. My company has operations In NC, NJ, Fl, CA, IL, TX, and AL. They arent going to consolidate in just one area. They chose to be spread out for a reason.

Maybe TaTa didn't want their executives to have little or no contact with the guys at Ford. Perhaps they want to separate themselves and isolate their workers from Motor City to further improve their business with even more beautiful cars like the XF.

The new XJ should be coming out.

Ford had Jag and Land Rover in Irvine becuase that is where their Premire Auto Group was located. AM, Jag, LR, Lincoln, and Mercury were all in Irivne along with Mazda in a seperate building.

Maybe Jag is moving to Northern NJ becuase half of the population of that area is Indian and they have some great engineers out in NJ stright from India.
