Jaguar XK diesel on the way
As Jaguar celebrates 60 years of the XK nameplate, it’s engineers are working hard on a diesel version of the popular model. Jaguar has previously denied that it will offer a diesel version of the XK coupe and convertible but sources say that the current economic situation has forced it to rethink its model lineup. Not to mention the success of the 635d has opened their eyes as well.

According to AutoCar, power will come from an uprated 3.0 liter twin-turbo version of the 2.7 V6 currently used in other Jaguar models. Output is expected to come in at 250-hp which should allow the XK to return a fuel-economy of over...

Yea, now if Ford can bring Diesel to Lincoln we might have a turn-around for Ford.

I'm surprised Ford doesn't use its new smaller 4.4L diesel to be used in the 2010 F-150.

Actually, from the article, the new 3.0-liter V-6 diesel is an updated version of the 2.7-liter. The 2.7 comes from the Lion family of Ford/Peugeot diesel engines. The 3.6-liter /4.4-liter V-8s (Land Rover and F150 Respectively) also come from this Lion family of engines. So, Ford is using the same technology with the 3.0-liter V-6 as they would use for the 4.4-liter V-8 if they had deemed that they needed a Jaguar that guzzled that much fuel just so they could boast that it had a V-8. I don't think Europeans are as hung up on providing V-8s as we are in America.
