Japanese Spec Nissan GT-R ECU Cracked, Full Godzilla soon to be unleashed
The guys at Cobbtuning.com have gotten their hands on a Japanese spec Nissan GT-R and have fully unleashed the beast within the new Godzilla by cracking the ECU on their white GT-R. Reports when the car first came out noted the ECU as totally uncrackable and we believe that Cobbtuning is the first tuning firm to crack the ECU.
From their blog:
Thankfully, it can now be removed. We’ll continue to do more in-house testing and hopefully get some beta AccessPORTs out to the other two JDM GT-Rs in the US inflicted with the same speed limiter woes. By the time North American spec cars arrive, we should be well prepared and practiced in the art of tuning the GT-R’s ECU.
When you land your Godzilla, what will be the first thing you do to it? Of course you will...

Maybe if they made real cars there would be no need for a crack.

Only a metter of time. I am wondering how much more the power train can handle?!? It is very solid to be able to handle 3.2 (MT) - 3.5 (C&D) 0-60 times and low 11's. But I have seen too many clutches get cremated due to ECU upgrades. Though the GT-R is a dual clutch (Friggin awesome tranny) hope it holds up to even more power!

just because it can produce those times doesn't mean it can handle those times. not that many cars out there can...

It's meaningless because it's not a production model, just like the original GT-R times. Factory test-mule FTL.
