General Motors Corp's Pontiac Vibe sport wagon and Toyota Motor Corp's Matrix wagon and Corolla sedan are under investigation by US regulators after motorists complained power windows get stuck and, in some cases, shatter.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an engineering analysis, the second-step in the safety review process, after the agency and automakers received 503 complaints, according to NHTSA's Web site. The investigation may affect 676,747 vehicles from the 2003 and 2004 model years.

Motorists complained about side-front power windows getting stuck, making popping noises and shattering during operation. A total of 36 injuries were reported.
