LA AUTO SHOW: EXCLUSIVE Shots From The Floor - FIRST Shots Of Fiat's 500L

Fiat shares a lot in common with another small car manufacturer, MINI.

Of course, they're both a bit different considering that they're from different countries -- Italy and Britain, respectively. But they're more similar than they'd like you to think.

They're fashionable, snapped up by the same demographic -- young, successful urbanites -- and they tend to be on the more efficient side.

And Fiat will take that one step further with the unveiling of its new 500 electric vehicle, but that's a whole other story.

Back to the all-new 500L.

Clearly Fiat has no other choice but to expand its lineup with a larger offering. There's just too much marketshare being passed up.

And if you take a REAL quick glance you'll see quite a bit of similarity between this and the MINI Cooper Countryman -- MINI's take on the larger, sport-utility class.
