The Rav4 is one of those vehicles that flies under the radar. Often bought by Toyota loyalists with new families and often used as a stepping stone to the larger SUV models it is often the first taste of things to come from the automaker. One thing the Rav4 has never been accused of though, is cutting edge design. Conservative is the key here, it major strength is appealing to the market that is not willing to make big risks. But time eventually takes a toll and you have to change to keep pace with the market, and now is the time for the Rav4 to be reinvented.Scan through the shots below and tell us if the new Rav4 is too big of a leap for the loyalist, or a refreshing break from the old. Are they going to appeal to a new untapped market?Full Official LA Auto Show Photo GalleryDid YOU check out this year's Black Friday gift guide care of AutoSpies? This front end is absolutely ULGY. They must have hired the "Bird Beak" design team from Honda's Acura division. The front end on this vehicle looks like it is "melting" plastic. I can already see an immedaite "refresh" after 2 years of LOW sales. This isn't a SUV I am turning my head back around to get another glimpse. WOW - this is the best they could do.— gkearns56 (View Profile)

What is with Toyota's recent goddawful interiors? Did we jump back to the 80's or something? First the Camry, then the FR-S and now this. My 1992 Honda Civic had a better interior than this. Actually, my 1987 Isuzu I-Mark had a better interior. — cidflekken (View Profile)

coming from a toyota guy... Wow. What the heck happened? A pleasant looking, though kind of generic, SUV has turned into something out of Acura on a bad day. — lexusrox123 (View Profile)

It has what it takes...to be the ugliest car in the segment. Wow - who looked at this at Toyota and said: "We have a winner!"?— Dustbuster (View Profile)

Btw: love how the top edge of the dash is inches misaligned vs. the door panel!— Dustbuster (View Profile)

Wow, just noticed how much the headlights and taillights are straight from the MDX. And, Dustbuster, good catch on the door/dash lack of cohesive design fluidity. Horrible. I would expect this type of interior in a Jeep Wrangler or Hummer or even the FJ Cruiser based on their truck-ish nature. but not this crossover. — cidflekken (View Profile)

Fish eye shots are not the the best to judge by, even so the front and rear look great. No more rear spare tire mount and a much more upscale design.— MrEE (View Profile)

I believe I will call this the "Wizard of Oz" mobile since the front end of this SUV says: "I'm melting, Oh melting". WOW - I now offcially nominate this crappy looking SUV as a cousin of the Pontiac Aztec. Someone really dropped the ball in this design team and should be fired immedaitely.— gkearns56 (View Profile)

If you know of the few people who buy this UGLY thing, tell them "I'll drive myself" if they ask you to ride with them for lunch.— gkearns56 (View Profile)
