Leading up to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette's debut was the most talked about item. If aliens from another universe landed at Cobo Hall, it wouldn't of mattered.

If enthusiasts were hoping for the Corvette to debut in more than one form, they were sorely mistaken. General Motors only brought the standard Corvette "Stingray" coupe to take a bow in the Motor City. Speculation has pinpointed the Geneva Motor Show for the convertible to make its first appearance. Though I have to say that would be a rather interesting location to debut this specific product.

I am not so sure that the Swiss are running out and snapping up Corvettes, particularly the convertible variant.

That said, these images have been said to be real — of course — but Chevrolet's PR folks have denied that they are official images from its department. Given the wording, that doesn't entirely rule out the possibility that its a real first look.

So, we have to ask: Are these Chevrolet Corvette convertible shots the LEAKED REAL deal or some mere FAKES?

The Corvette convertible shares styling cues from the shoulder line down, but the sleek Stringray back has been sliced off and a heavily sculpted trunk put in its place. Presumably the converitible 'Vette retains the fabric top from previous versions.
