If you liked what you saw at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show when Toyota showed off its FT86 Open concept, then you should like this.

New images taken from a patent application filed by Fuji Heavy Industries shows an FT86 Open, essentially, just that the top and windows are up.

Really there's not much difference over the coupe, with exception being the cloth roof. Anyone holding out for a folding, metal top really wasn't taking into consideration the vehicle's budget.


The first images of the Toyota GT86 cabriolet have been leaked from a patent application for its roof design. The pictures come just a few weeks after the debut of the FT86 Open concept, previewing a GT86 cabriolet, at the Geneva motor show.

Whilst depicting a GT86-based car, the patent has been filed under Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru. This would imply a BRZ cabriolet is also being planned...
