Land Rover achieves third successive record sales year
Land Rover has achieved its third successive record sales year with 226,395 cars sold around the world in 2007. That’s an increase of 17.6% on the previous year. It’s the first time Land Rover, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, has driven through the two hundred thousand sales barrier.
Emerging markets continued to show their potential with sales in Russia climbing 96% to 12,268, and by 143% in China to reach 6,573. There were also records in the US, Canada, Spain and Ireland among others.

Interesting. I still hear about LRs numerous glitches and electrical issues. Also MPG #s are not that good. If LR can improve in those two points then it is a winner. The styling is next to none.

Rosko, durability is quite different from reliability.
Landies are very durable, of course. If they weren't they wouldn't be off-roading icons.
And as much as I love the Range Rover, I just wouldn't be able to buy one... unless they became more reliable. They have endless electrical problems, and the RR Sport even has common faulty suspension issues. They're nightmares, unless you're very lucky and get the very rare, perfect Range Rover.

I give LR two thumbs up. We own a 06 LR3 HSE and a 06 Range Rover Sport HSE and both vehicles have been great. Superb luxury, great road manners, all terrain capable, really versatile/utility overall. No doubt the global sales will continue to climb. I believe LR will bring diesels to the US real soon, then watch out, US sales will really grow. I recommend the brand.

The Range Rover hold one of the most powerful brand image in the entire world, Prime Ministers, Hollywood Actors, Footballers, Royal families, Famous Singers, and many other famous personnas have used this iconic legend over the years, and people dream of owning cars like the Range Rover. And among the current offerings, i just love the LR3, classic Land Rover that can be recognized as one in an instant, the design is very rugged, the car looks strong, and look as if like it can do anything. And lastly the Defender, it is the master at work, really the behemoth challenges that it has passed though in general use through severe terrains like the Sahara Desert, African savannas, Scottish swamplands, and many more really makes this car a product that lulls our imagination. And now to conquer the world of roads that we live in, not of deserts or ice cubes, LR has introduced the Range Sport and the LR2, both are very good cars and may be very likable, but they just lack the history and legacy that has made the Range Rover and the Defender such powerful icons. I am a huge LR fan and i am certainly proud to be one.

... and getting great results.
I've had my LR3 for 2 years now, reliability has been flawless, better than any of my last 3 (new) BMW's (3 series) and significantly superior to any new American vehicle I ever owned. Dealership attention to detail is beyond reproach. The owners of vehicles in this price range are understandably fussy; unfortunately this probably this skews the reliability stats that are reported in the press. The bottom line, it is a great vehicle with a carefully developed dealership that stands behind the product ... unfortunately Tata will not have a clue on all the aspects of a luxury product that define reliability, quality and value... in the end they will definitely kill the product, hopefully Land Rover will be sold again just before the point of no return to a real quality car company! In the meantime I will tough it out and hope for the best, it’s too good a vehicle to let slip away.
