Last 2008 ROUSH P-51A Mustang to be auctioned
ROUSH Performance, in partnership with the Ford Motor Company, is going to put the very last production 2008 ROUSH P-51A™ Mustang under the gavel and spotlights of the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event at West Palm Beach, Fla. This car, number 151 in a limited production run of 151, will be sold on Saturday, March 29 with proceeds going to the Salute to Education Scholarship charity.

“Number 151 is a pretty significant car for ROUSH considering the total inventory of ROUSH P-51A Mustangs basically sold out within 24 hours when the dealer order banks were opened up,” said Joe Thompson, general manager of ROUSH Performance. “Whoever ends up with this car will truly acquire a part of ROUSH history.”

Whereas the P-51 was a phenominal aircraft that was actually the first specifically designed long range bomber escort the US put into the European theater; I think quite a few other aircraft could carry the name of the plane that "won the war"...specifically this little known B-29 you might have heard of called

...the Enola Gay

I would also talk to the Japanese Zero pilots as well as the US P-38 and British Spitfire pilots and ask them if they thought the P-51 was the best prop fighter in (and that apparently singlehandedly won) the war.

I must say Roush did a good job with this version of the Mustang, it def. pays homage to the great fighter of WWII and one of my favorite planes ever. The sound that thing makes when it fly's by at an airshow is unmistakable

I know you own a P51... Roush... but stop rubbing it in everyones face. For a second I though he was auctioning off his plane. Lucky bastard.
