Lexus LF-A supercar a go-latest details

It looks as if Toyota Racing will produce the Lexus LF-A supercar concept. It's due by 2008, according to Autocar, and will make its production debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2007.

The two-seater supercar is powered by what Lexus at the time called "a high-output V10 engine" and was first previewed at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. Since then, the reaction to it has been so positive that the Japanese car maker was persuaded to put it into production.

Hmm...

A high output V10 from Toyota versus a TTV6 or possibly a V8 from Nissan. Should be interesting.

So why is Toyota going to build a Super IS auto when they are coming out with the LF-A. I would be hesitant to buy a six figure car that looks exactly like a $30K Lexus. Besides didn't Ford already use the title GT500? I wonder what the NSX will reply with...hopefully something more than 290HP!

This isn't one of those timeless, athletic but elegant designs you see at Ferrari or Porsche, this is just techno-ugliness, ill-concieved pointy bits and tacky details.

And it begs the question. After looking at this oddly-proportioned and gimmocky car, are the Bangle BMW's really that bad?

Yeah, I'm not liking the looks of this concept. I'm sure the actual production model will only take some styling cues. I'd take a Bangled BMW over this thing as much as it pains me to say it.

dbloseven:
This LF-A SUPERCAR will compete against Ferrari F430,Lambo Gallardo,BMW M6,Aston Vanquish,
In upcomings Audi R8,MB Mclaren P8...etc

IS500 will compete against M3,RS4,C AMG,
In upcomings Infiniti GTR,Acura/honda GTR,Nissan Skyline GTR,Mitsubishi Evo X...etc

Now can u see the difference,They will be in different classes.

A fully Loaded 3 series Sedan doesn't mean it's in the same class as of a basic 7 series's.
335i is not near to 730i
infact both r 6 cylinders,have almost equal power,luxury,features...etc

Huu:

I think it will be pretty profitable for them as usual,as they will price it very attractively compare to it's competitors.
I am sure it will be priced lower than it's competitors mentioned above.

More than that i think it's very early to say anything about it.Because yet we don't have much official details about it.Performance,price- range...etc

The new Q is rumored to be a competition slaying flagship sedan. Of course...what else would Infiniti say? Basically they expect this vehicle to make a splash similar or better than the 2006 M. No engine specs or designations as of yet. It could possibly be named Q47 (I like Q55 though) as Infiniti has been spotted trademarking a ton of 37 and 47 designations. I'm sure the design will be somewhat similar to the current M with an elongated wheelbase.

At this point all all info. is hearsay. Also dealers aren't the best sources for information, although, my sales guy hasn't been wrong about future models yet.

The fans in the rear-end are there because the radiators do not fit in at the front of the car where they would normally go if the front end did not slope so much; that is Lexus' explanation.

I don't know much about the upcoming Infiniti Q, as i think it's very late.Even the Most deepest Sources have limited ideas about the upcomings Infiniti/Nissan models (as usual).

Infiniti/Nisan don't reveal much information about there upcomings unlike Toyota,Honda or VW..etc

Thats the reason we still don't know much about there upcomings GTs and GT-Rs,infact they don't even reveal their refresh models in very advance. They just reveal them 2-3 months earlier.
We still don't know anything about FX refresh,G refresh,M refresh...etc

But we can guess,I think most probably upcoming Q will be called as the "Q56",will lift the 5.6 litre engine from the QX56.

But there new models are approaching, that's for sure.I remember Carlos ghosn saying in his speech at the unveiling cermony of the 2005 M that they will add nearly 17 new models to their infiniti/nissan lineup till 2010.Among them 11 will be the completely new models.

GT500 in Ford's moniker for the new Cobra. I doubt Lexus will name it this. Especially with all of the suing going on between companies lately.
