Lexus Relentlessly Pursues Promotion with World's First All-Car Orchestra?
Some of the most interesting marketing campaigns of the last 100 years has come from automakers, and Lexus is doing its best to capture buyers' imaginations with the technical prowess of the new LS sedans. First came a multimedia blitz centered around the hands-free parallel parking capabilities of the Lexus flagship, and now the premium tunes of the LS 460's Mark Levinson audio system are on display in a unique way. The LS 460's impressive sound system (which is part of a nearly $8,000 option package here in the US) includes 450 total watts coming from 19 speakers per vehicle, but the folks from Aichi want to show UK buyers that the system is good enough for a full-blown orchestra.

I think the London Symphony Orchestra should've went with a bunch of B&O systems in Audi's...it'd cost $1700 less per car too with over twice the wattage. Just comparing the audio systems, the B&O is far superior than the ML in depth, clarity...you name it.

mabe it doesn't seem that out of the ordinary to those who are lexus fanatics but to people who arn't the lexus faithful i can think of a couple of automakers whome i would consider to be of a higher class destinction than lexus. as would the majority of the world.

How is it 'hating' to have an opinion that this is utter rubbish marketing appealing to the mindless masses? Why not show off some automotive engineering marvel they developed (not the pathetic self park gizmo), something substantive...while other manufacturers showcase safety, engineering, real design dynamics..the Lexus is playing with their(?) car speakers..why is this important? Someone tell me the last time you saw a Lexus marketing blitz that wasnt part of some pseudo "champagne and caviar" event that tries ever so hard to look classy and nothing more? I just wish they had a balance of fluff and substance..this is why I can't stand their marketing, creates a negative brand image for some of us.
so very Lexus, so very L-Finesse pretentious..

Agreed marketing is for pushing your product (and I should not be shocked by this Lexus ploy)..however, the way in which you market creates the image ..most manufacturers in this category tend to push engineering, driving dynmics, safety, design..Lexus seems to always go for the utterly pompous and pretentious..so mind numbing
Agreed, the same should be said about the sunglasses and watches, utterly irrelavant..but at the same time these are hardly comparable...MB does not constantly push their product with sunglass manufacturers or other such 'high end' products to boost their image..its generally the other way around...

Another brilliant display of creativity, brilliance and balls by Lexus. This company knows how to play ball with the big boys and kick ass.

yea whatever im sure that if you lined up a whole bunch of s550's and let them blast their hk sound systems the sound would be heavenly. as would the audi's sound system. when is lexus going to build a car that drives as well as it's sound system. then it could compete with the s, 7, a8, xj all of whome overwhelmed the ls in their last showdown.

I agree with MercO7 The LS is good but not good enough and it even got beaten by the Jag which is a great vehicle but has not gotten a total make over in a long time. And for the LS going through many refreshes and make overs is still not up to par. And I really want to see it stand up to the new 7 series and upcoming Jag and by then the S and A8 will have its refresh too.Its very competitive segment. When in S'pore my family has got the previous model S28O which is so much better i find in terms of looks and innovation then the current LS

The new LS is the most technologically-advanced car in the world, with one of the best stock audio systems on the planet.
Disagree?
Fine. Just know you're in the minority.

Most technologically advanced? The Toyota Estima and Alphard even have the ridiculous self park. Its just for people who cant drive. And until now I havent seen Lexus do anything innovative like the rest of the companies

To dismiss the technology as "just for people who cant drive" is childish. The parking assist features that Mercedes also use are just for people who "cant drive" too right?
The LS600h is the most technologically production car ever. Even your precious Forbes said so in one of the videos posted on their website.

LOL. THE LEXUS IS A COFFIN ON WHEELS. AS FOR TECHNOLOGY GOES WHATS THE POINT OF ALL THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY IF THE CAR IS GOING TO LOOSE COMPARISON TEST AFTER COMPARISON TEST. I DID COME ACROSS A NEW ADVANCE FOR LEXUS IT'S CALLED DRIVE BY WIRE IT'S INCORPERATED IN THE NEW IS. HMM NOW I COULD HAVE SWARN THAT MERCEDES INVENTED THIS YEARS AGO WITH THE E-CLASS. TYPICAL LEXUS COPY THE CLASS LEADER MERCEDES BENZ. THROW IT ON A LEXUS (THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST CHANGED THE NAME) LIKE THEY DID WITH MERCEDES PRESAFE I MEAN LEXUS'S PRECRASH. LEXUS IS PLAYING FOLLOW THE LEADER WHEN IT COMES TO THE PREMIUM LEXURY SEDAN. IT'S GETTING OLD.

Will there is a difference between Parking Assist and Self Park. Park Assist is so you dont damage the car. The self park just makes the driver lazy. And I dont trust the self park at all. Because then the driver is just not needed at all
