Lexus is ready for the battle ! 3 New Scoop from JAPAN
After the L600h and L600hL which set the standard of luxury sedans to a whole new level and offer a real alternative to the German manufacturers, Lexus, probably helped by the almighty Toyota has been sharpening his tools and looks ready for the battle !
The news come from the Japanese magazine "Car-Top" and even though those are rumours, we all know how it goes nowadays in the automotive industry, there is no time to waste with false informations. The big "L" has got 3 new weapons on their way.
Firstly the Lexus IS, challenging cars such as the BMW 3 series or Mercedes C Class, should soon be adding a convertible version to the lineup, a great news for all those who want to enjoy the upcoming summer in the best dispositions, no infos on the type of engine there will be under the right foot yet.
The second news will please all the Motorsport fans like myself, especially in the United States of America because Lexus has never been closer to enter the American Le Mans Series with the IS-F, to compete in the GT2 class alongside the Ferrari F430 and Porsche 997 GT.
Last but not least, Lexus is bringing something on the table for all the supercar lovers, the LF-A, considered by some as the new Toyota Supra, will mean business: 570HP and 320+kmh (200+mph) on the speedometer.
An impressive triple offensive by Lexus and we can't wait to know more !

See! LexusKing and I told you.
There's no stopping the big-L, specially with the aid of the almighty Toyota.

The 997 and the F430 are on another level. AND the -F doesnt have anything on Mpower or AMG. They will always be a step ahead. By the way, how are they gonna market this IS-F? Lexus is only good at one thing. They make fuel efficient, supposedly extremely reliable, luxury cars, not sports cars.

This convertible doesnt look proportionally right with the top down. Look at the position of the front seat in reference to the door and rear seats. Look good with the top up. I like the small trunk even though it looks like its only big enough for the folding roof.

Lexus will build a coupe and CV IS (quite soon actually). It will be much more agressive in style than the sedan, and it will not look like this.

Give me a break. I own and love my IS350. It is a fabulous car in every respect. It in no way "dominates" the 3 series. The 3 series is a great car as well. Different cars for different people. It's time that everyone gets a little bit of perspective and acknowledges that at some point opinion is opinion and the facts don't give one clear answer to everyone.

Very well said bro. Now that's a respectable comment. You own a Lexus but you're not like the 'lexus cult' aka 'fake Lexus users' who like to claim things that are untrue.
I too own a Lexus but I don't think it dominates the S-Class or any cars in its segment. They are all great cars.

So the only way someone can gain respect is to own a Lexus and then say that they are not competition to their competition?
This is a phenomenon that will not take off, promise.

I do believe Lexus and Infinity makes far better products than a BMW but the real problems for the Germans are now..the AMerican cars are building more reliable and fuel efficient cars while European cars are still lagging behind technology and last places when it comes to building a reliable cars without falling apart on the highway..I see too many brand new German cars being whicked away on a tow truck each and everyday especially Mercs and Landrovers.
Lexus is about 3 years ahead of its competition as stated by analysists also!

What the hell are you talking about?!
I find it strange how only a certain group of people see all these wrecked german cars... And i find it equally strange how these people can continue to dismiss facts simply because they don't like them...
Nicehomer... Why don't you try looking up BMWs new line of Efficient dynamics engines... They ain't exactly low tech... And I would like to see the actual proof that Lexus are so far ahead of the germans (how do you meassure that BTW)...
As to wether Lexus makes better products, I think that is very subjective. Personally, I think the BMW interior has a better feel to it! None of all that hard plastics of the IS (or wood, I don't care, still rubish) and it doesn't look nearly as crowded... With the iDrive option, it is among the best looking interiors... And the E92 coupe is among the most beautiful coupes on the market... Sure as hell looks a lot better than the hardtop thingie shown above (same applies for the E92 hard top coupe)...
And I still haven't seen the proof that german cars end up in the side of the road so much more often than a Japanese cars... And please don't bring up that reliability thing none of you bothered to read the text to, because that clearly states that BMW is among the best when it comes to mechanical reliability but that their problem is quality control which means that trimming might come loose or the navi might malfunction (which will be fixed for free btw)... Hardly something which will make the car grind to a hault... And as for Mercedes, they had a bad run for a few years, but their present cars are all back to the old "mercedes standard" which even Lexus can't compete with... Go sit in an S-class and you'll know!

Landrovers aren't German.
They are British.
They do score horribly in the reliability ratings.

Bad photoshop- proportions are all wrong. The IS won't have such a rounded roof if it comes in cc, and the trunk is much too small. I really like the IS, but if the IS cc ends up looking anything like this, I'd be disappointed.
It's hard to pull off a four-seat hardtop convertible that looks attractive with the top up, though.

The IS is a gorgeous sport sedan. So is the G35, the 3 series, etc.
I hate convertibles. I think, THINK meaning my opinion, that they are for young girls and old men.
Roadsters are a different story, the SL500 is beautiful...although...some spoiled brat just got one on my super sweet 16, and otherwise only wealth older men seem to buy them.
Anyhow, I could care less about this because I dont like convertibles. I just want an IS with a 6spd manual that's actually quick, because I think that car looks delicious in black.
Go ahead, deboost me, my car is N/A anyhow :p

I agree that the proportions look wrong. The door should be bigger. I do not agree that the IS looks like a Toyota Celica, but I'll just brush that off as just normal anti-Lexus crap. I do agree that the LF-A and 3-Convertible Coupe were the inspirations for the rear.
As someone just said, the real Lexus engineers will make a great-looking coupe out of the IS. A convertible? I personally think that convertible versions of cars that were originally designed to be sedans and hardtops never look as good as their counterparts.

it will be close match between the future nsx , lfa, and the gt-r

Lexus is the most classy brand in Japan. Lexus will do wonders with the IS platform and should create a proper sports coupe. I wish they would have one instead of giving the IS-F so much hype. What if it fails to perform? Lexus handling has never been the best so they should make a real sports coupe to fight on this battle against the 3 series coupe and the g37 coupe.

no no i do not live in JPN but I think it is the most classy brand coming out of Japan in terms of luxury cars. Lexus is no.1 here in the US not because it is more classy than the competitors but it has lots of good features combined with traditional good toyota quality. i think with those traits people will buy them and especially when general lexus cost a hand less than a mercedes. we here in america always look for what is the best with money can buy and lexus has filled the gap in the market for people not seeking the most expensive car but an overall good technology and good luxury features.
not much curb appeal as a s600 benz but i think the top range lexus is good at catering to its target consumers.

like i said the top range lexus may not have as much curb appeal or that europe luxury you are talking about but lexus is catering to people who does not want to lose a limb paying for a car so it is the best choice.
i never said it was better than europe cars but for a hand less it is value. lexus may not be a europe prestige brand but i think as long as it does well here in the US it is good enough because toyota only want to expand here for us originally.
i do not blame europeans for not liking lexus. but as i say before lexus does well for the consumer type they cater to. may not be as exclusive like a european but lexus is not marketing expensive like mb for example. they fill in the gap where people may not have the extra limb to spare or people who may not be looking for a expensive car but still want reliability and some jpn technology built in.
that is what i think. i love the lexus cars out today but i know they are not as exclusive as the europes cars but in someway it is different consumer looking for different things. that is why i dont hate europe fans because it is a little different buyers.
