Lexus is embarking on a new-model offensive, including a compact soft-roader, an inexpensive luxury sedan and a seven-seat SUV, as well as a broader range of customization options. Tony Cramb, Lexus’ chief executive, said that to be able to compete with BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, Lexus will have to drop its one-size-fits-all policy and permit consumers to select trims, colors, finishes, engines and body styles. He also said that the wider range of options will be supplemented by new models that are expected to reverse its declining sales.
