Lexus to offer only hybrid models in the U.K.

There is no chance that this will happin. Because the best selling GS is the GS350 and 460 for the LS. The hybrid models hardly sell in europe.

If Lexus expects that it can force hybrid's into peoples possession, they have a thing coming for them... a slight increase in hybrid sales. Which will never make up for the loss of non hybrid sales.

This has been going around the rumor mill for a long time, and I can honestly see this happening, especially when I consider the cars that Lexus provides over there. The RX is only a hybrid; the LS is offered in LWB only as a hybrid; the HS not introduced because it would get in the way of the future IS hybrid.

You few are misinformed. The hybrid versions of the GS and RX have a record of outselling their gasoline-only counterparts in Europe. Europeans don't buy Lexus in general (relatively) but when they do, they like those hybrids.

If everything goes hybrid, means more hybrid production which means lower cost for parts. Sure, the base ones will be a little more expensive but Lexus sees it as why offer gasoline when you can offer a superior hybrid for almost the same price.
Should also translate into lower cost hybrids if Toyota decides to do the same (even partially) in N.America.

It might be hard to fathom since Europeans are used to being offered gasoline and screwed over on diesels.

If diesels are so great and they're the answer to everything that ails you, why do they still offer gasoline engines?

No, I'm just someone who doesn't buy BS from Europe because some Germans say its the European thing to do. There's a reason why Europe is basically irrelevant today, they talk too much and don't produce anything to back up their claims besides heritage and magic feel.

If Europe, and Germany, are so irrelevant, then why do American and Japanese car companies continuing to refine their cars to match/better European car's characteristics (performance and comfort, luxury and safety) rather than sticking to the Japanese and US characteristic of boat-like comfort?

Sounds like you're just one of those mammas boys living with their parents who has to get them to lease you some cheap BMW so you can show off your manhood.

Toyota refining their cars to the Germans. Funny, Mercedes declared they wanted their reliability to match that of Lexus in the near future. Toyota comes out with this and that and now the Germans are doing the same like hybrids, 8spd transmissions, design and even the useless self parking feature.
The only advantage the Europeans have is that Europe still views themselves as the best even if results don't back it up.

If you had a clue, you'd know that America is what keeps oil flowing to Europe. Otherwise the Russians would be telling Europe what to do along with pretty much everybody else.
Australia (I have to give Rudd credit) has the balls to stand up to China, when was the last time Europe did that?

Go learn about your history and get some self-confidence, aftewards you might not need a plastic emblem to feel like your worth something but maybe you will.

Check it out quick, shows an X5 driving through an underground parking door and also BMW's latest model. A BMW donkey with a huge BMW logo smack dab on the poor animals forehead. I'm sure the donkey handles like a dream though.

A fob would ride one of these if they had to.
