This is what Lexus does best: marketing.
Hate it, love it, or respect it.

Just give it a few years. When the Germans come out with their own hybrid lifestyle, everyone here will swoon.

cars are cars. they're part of our lives. and a big part for some of us. but definitely not a lifestyle. ridiculous.

it's come to the point where you have absolutely no credibility on this site. most of what you say sounds like you've been brainwashed. it's scary.
just go away.

LOL, "hybrid" is a lifestyle? Talk about marketing gimmicks, but hey, if it works, right?
So which car represents the "Rock 'n Roll" lifestyle?
"Diesel lifestyle"
"Camry lifestyle"
Is there an M3 lifestyle?
So if you're an old, ugly, chainsmoking, chubby black man, you're not allowed to dirty up the "hybrid lifestyle"?
The elitism declared by the "hybrid" lifestyle is amusing and most ironic, because most environmentally minded folk are either students or non-profit workers who are actually middle income wage earners that can not afford a Lexus, and consider it a luxury just to buy a Prius.
It's like rich Beverly Hills kids trying to fit into the "thug lifestyle".

quizz,
BMW owners think they can drive, and are part of some poser lifestyle.
hybrid owners choose to buy hybrids because they know what it represents, "more for less" while being env't conscious. (More meaning power or efficiency or somewhere in between).
Personally, I'd buy a hybrid becuase I want one, not because of some ad.

actually, many of us bmw owners really do like to drive. it's a ton of fun--especially on a track. and, surprise, BMWs are really really fun to drive.
i'd say lexus hybrid buyers are the real posers. people who are truly passionate about being environmentally conscious drive a prius or take public transport. the "posers" drive cars like the GS450h that gets 20 MPG.

The other end of the spectrum is the poser driving the 550i with a subpar interior and gas-guzzling fuel economy in comparison...

posers are trying to be something they're not. like an "environmentally friendly" vehicle that doesn't even get good gas mileage.
on the other hand, i love the 550i...would definitely drive it over an E550, A6 or GS430...because it performs better in terms of handling, brake feel, etc. i would never claim it gets good mileage because it doesn't and i don't care. i would also never claim the interior is better than audi's, but again, not my priority.
so will, how exactly would i be a poser for buying a car for substantive reasons that the car actually lives up to?

The GS450h doesn't "live up to" its purpose of performance without the sacrifice of fuel economy?
The real poser would be the BMW 550i driver who makes all this hooplah about handling and track performance but yet rarely ever uses the car for those purposes. In terms of the GS, yes the interior is extremely better than the 5-Series'. Pretty much every other car in the class has a better interior, that's not a hard feat to accomplish. I said nothing about Audi.
It's not like all the other cars in the class are incapable of taking a curve. It's not like all the other cars in the class have serious acceleration deficiencies, so why would I be criticized for wanting characteristics in a car that are of some actual use to me on a daily basis? Fuel economy and emissions of the GS450h outclass all other top-end versions of the other cars in the segment. No harm in wanting that without the stigma of lagging hybrid economy-car performance.

O'd rather have a diesel life-style that is Fuel efficient on both freeway and city driving.
Don't get me wrong, I like Toyota cars, just the non-hybrid ones.

It's interesting to see who Lexus 'expects' to purchase their vehicles. They have this vision, as shown on that pic, of their perfect customer and people they want to see driving their cars.
Of course, people from all walks of live desire to own a Lexus vehicle. Their internal concept of "the perfect customer" is shared by other luxury carmakers too. Lexus is not alone on this...for sure.
