Lutz: Chevy Malibu exceeded expectations by 2,500 units

Wow, good for GM. I have to admit that it is not only a good looking car, but it is a car that looks really well built and it is also a higher standard than what I am used to from GM.

I wouldn't say that...GM's been on a roll lately. Enclave, Arcadia, CTS, Aura, GMT900's, Silverado. Older hits: Sky/Solstice, Corvette Z06. But if you mean a mainstream car from GM...then yes.

I for the life of me can't see why this is news. This is the problem with American car companies, giving themselves praise for nothing. Of course the car is going to sell 3000 units in one month. DUH this car is supposed to sell in the Camry/Accord range and yet we're cheering about 3000 sales! Such a stupid, insignificant pat on the back if there ever was one. This is the same type of BS that GM was proud of when the new full size trucks and SUVs came out, yet production was scaled back in no time. Why the bullshit hype? When this new Chevy can sell anywhere near the 2 leaders in this segment then you can cheer. This "they're flying off the lots" bullshit is the worst type of GM practice. You sold 3000 units in the first month. Whooptie do! That isn't even a drop in the bucket for GM or Honda or Toyota. Just lame. Lets look at the sales once production ramps up and dealers have plenty of them to sell. Bet the story is different then.

TO CALL THIS A HUGE HIT AFTER ONE PITIFUL MONTH OF 3000 SALES IS JUST PLAIN OLE AMERICAN CAR COMPANY BULLSHIT THROUGH AND THROUGH. THIS IS THE REASON WHY TOYOTA AND HONDA HAVE TAKEN OVER THE MOST BASIC OF CAR MARKETS, THE FAMILY SEDAN. DUMMIES AT GM, TELL BOB LUTZ TO SHUT THE HELL UP SOMETIMES.

awesome car. now americans have a great car from an american company. now they can trade off their entry level sissy looking camrys and accords and get a real midsize car with class. and wow it's american.

It's nice, but I hate to agree here that 3,000 is nothing to get excited about. That's maybe 1 extra on eat each dealer in the U.S.

Good start, but has some ground to cover. Hopefully it'll do well. I like the way it looks... Except the swiches on the doors... Not sure why they used those when they have beter buttons/switches right there on the dash.
