For such a long time, everyone has been taking a stick to Lexus over its styling department. Although cars like the latest generation IS, and already legendary LFA, were a bit edgier, the other vehicles in the line up seem to lack some chutzpah.
They were handsome but just lacking some character. Well, I don't think we can say the same for this latest concept, dubbed the LF-Gh, which is set to debut at the 2011 New York Auto Show. It's definitely more contemporary and evoking a younger feel.
But, is this really what we want? Did Lexus cross the border?
There are a lot of interesting elements to this vehicle because it seems to take some aspects of the radical IS-F and put it together with the conservative GS. Additionally, one key place that I think will largely be overlooked is the interior.
Although we don't have any interior shots YET, from the initial teasers it looks like Lexus has spent a lot more time in that department and may finally be ready to show us something a little more bespoke and a little less Toyota.
Be sure to stay tuned for next week's New York Auto Show coverage...
