There is a move to increase road car production by McLaren from the current 100 units annually to around 1,000 cars by 2011 and ultimately achieve a 4,000 unit production rate per year. The target is to become competitive with Ferrari and Lamborghini with regards to production volume and also to provide more affordable cars.
