The German publication Autobild is reporting that Mercedes is considering the development of a hatchback and a roadster version of a new class of automobiles: BLK. Mercedes BLK will be based off of the B-Class platform. This new model is supposed to compete directly with Bmw’s 1-Series . Read Article

It looks nice, but unfortunatly it will need to be a coupe and not a hatch to sell in america. The previous 318ti and C-series sportback confirmed this.

I like the BMW 1-Series better, but this Benz be very nice and perfect for Euro roads.

If it has a CVT I don't want it. The CVT still has reliability issues to be worked out and that is why CVT's appear on lower-powered cars only -- they can't reliably handle higher-powered engines.

I think DSG is the wave of the future, but CVT's have proven reliable in Nissans mated to the 3.5V-6 in the Murano.
