Who cares what the tail lights look like as long as they are not like the faddish ugly clear tail lights that some asian manufacturers seem to favor and that some copy cats here have introduced into cars like the Fusion and Aura which makes them look el cheapo.

What really counts in evaluating an SUV is its mechanical performance and reliability.

It looks like a Jeep Liberty. Between the looks of this and the new C-Class (specifically its interior), we now know who really wore the pants in the DaimlerChrysler relationship.

Picture looks great, much better than the spy shots presented here earlier. Wheels look great, The bumper appears to be slightly different especially around the foglight are.

This will be the American version (not the Euro version in "Sex and the City") Nicer than the ML in my own opinion, and a little Landroveresque without looking like MB tried to copy them. Sum it up with a nice interior (DONT MAKE IT LIKE THE C-CLASS) and they have a winner.

I want this one to meet my wife's requirement of a small SUV but I'd like it with the engine from the Vision C220 Bluetec. I hope it's not more than 70 inches high as I have a height restriction in my condo garage in the East.

Apparently someone at Mercedes instructed the GLK design team that the use of French curves was strictly prohibited when penning this... thing!

This may well be the single least graceful automotive design of the 21st century - one straight line after another, all running in different (unrelated) directions.

It better drive great, because it sure is hideous!

Note: Yes, I know that modern vehicle design is done primarily on computers, but you get my point.

i liked most of the new MB models like S, CL, GL even the C class's exterior now grown on me. But this GLK is just too ordinary looking. Non premium rivals like CR-V, Rav4, Tiguan are much exiting. This is too ordinary.

and over that, this is a concept so the production will be even cheap looking. MB could have one much better.

You're right, the Tiguan actually looks far more upscale. That is one nice little VW.

no it doesn't look like it will grow on me later. that design is nothing. Simply cheap and looks like the work of Kia and not MB. Poor job MB with the GLK.

I can't think of a single KIA design, past or present, that was/is such an unappealing jumble of bad proportions and needlessly straight/hard lines as this Mercedes creation...

Other opinions may differ, but this one is mine.

It's funny how all these "design experts" here bash the GLK. To me, this is pure Mercedes design. Remember the early 1980s? Mercedes' were generally boxy with a few curvy lines here and there. The overall visual appearance was that of an elegant, mildly dynamic, yet beautiful car. I see the same applies here.

Speaking of the 1980s, oh wait, I get it! Most of the people bashing this car weren't even born yet.

Well said. I agree with you all the way. The design cues on this vehicle are typical 1980s Mercedes-Benz in a more modern form.

I personally find the GLK very sharp looking.
