Yikes. The German produced C-class were bad enough, but the Chinese made ones may be scary. I trust as time goes on, the Chinese ones may in fact be better than the German ones.

I think Mercedes has learned their lesson with last generation M-Class and production in North America. Quality control shouldn't be a problem anymore.
RHD W203 C-Classes were produced in South Africa and they were fine, overall. The current W204 is also being made in South Africa (RHD cars only).
Heck, Mercedes has been producing trucks and buses in South America and South East Asia for decades (beginning in the 1960s) and these cars have been bullet-proof and reliable and are still around. When I visited Brazil five months ago I saw numerous "Kurzhauber" trucks and buses from Mercedes - still running and still looking good. Pretty impressive for a car designed in the 1960s and produced in from late 1960s until the early 1980s.
