Mercedes C320 CDI review - should this car come to the US?
The C-class has been a success for Mercedes in the mid-sized premium sedan market since its inception 15 years ago in 1993.

Back then you could count on stiff competition between Germany’s trio of luxury brands - Mercedes, BMW and Audi - and cars like the BMW 3-series and Audi 80 (the precursor to today's A4) were the C-class' biggest threats.

Coupled with the increasing niche segments being dreamed up by auto executives around the globe, the latest model has even more to compete with.

The C-Class has featured diesel engines in its line-up for almost as long as it has been around, but the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel our test car sported has only been available for a few years.

With a name like "Lexurious" it should be clear that this guy is a fake.

We want something LUXURIOS not "lexurios". Keep the "pseudo-lexurios" Japanese trash away from threads about real luxury cars like Mercedes.

A Mercedes C320 CDI is welcomed here but nobody would mind an even smaller diesel engine inside a C class.

That's what the 200, 220 and 280 cdi engines are for.

I know, but let's see them here in US.

At the prices of diesel gas $.20 more than premium, I'm not so sure US would be the IDEAL market for this car.

I agree with having a smaller deisel for this car.

Earth to MichaelTaylor...have you ever heard of TORQUE? Yes, I'm talking about that thing that is missing in Japanese cars.

A big no for me. I drove this car throughout Europe last year. What a piece of junk! Sorry MB fans, but this one does not cut it.

It's the same multiple award winning engine used in the E class, S class, GL Mercedes fit into the new magnificent body of the new C class. I hope you realise that you don't make any sense.

Viso,

How about telling us WHY this car is a "piece of junk". Furthermore you claim you "drove" it throughout Europe. As what? A rental? C320 CDI's are extremely difficult to find as rentals and very expensive to rent. Something tells me you're bullshitting...

Yeah he is bullshitting. I believe the 220CDI is the only rental available.

I hope MB brings it here. Since it's a CDI, I think it's only 42 state legal. I'm clueless about automotive engineering, so I'm wonder how hard could it be to possibly add urea filtering (blutec, blumotion, etc.) to their CDI (common rail direct injection, right?) engines. Anyone?

Why is it CDI instead of Bluetec? Oh, I know, because CDI is cheaper to build, therefore more profitable. Gotta love those European hypocrites.

Car Maker in "Profit-Maximising" Shocker.

Today Mercedes announced that in fact it was not in the car making business to make people happy, but rather to make money. Local moron huu76 said; 'It's disgraceful. How dare these people try and make money when they should be spending lots of money to make unnecessary pollution-reducing equipment which isn't needed in most markets".
In other news, today Toyota announced that in fact it made cars to save baby seals and restore the ozone layer. The fact it doesn't make an IS hybrid even though it would be very fuel efficient and have low emissions was not important, a spokesperson said, while standing in front of a 5.7 litre Lexus LX.

Newsflash, "Toyota continues to make more money than ALL German automanufacturers combined by providing efficient, clean hybrids and efficient gasoline engines while providing jobs to local economies."

On an unrelated topic, "Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 cleaner than Touerag V10 diesel even though VW claims diesels are better for the env't".

Real news trumps German BS anyday.
