Mercedes’ Future: New E-Class and CLK next year, GLK comes in 2009
Mercedes-Benz has been doing very well recently in the United States. With the beautifully redesigned 2008 C-Class focused on performance driving, Mercedes-Benz finally feels confident that it has a great rival to take on the BMW 3-Series. Not only that, Mercedes is getting ready to launch its compact SUV, the Mercedes GLK, in the U.S. by 2009.

So who is responsible for this great change? Well it’s most likely the result of a new U.S. management team that has been asking customers exactly what they want at the same time making quality its number one priority.

Click through to see what’s in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup for 2008 through 2010...

I think a lot of Mercedes recent successes have to do with Dieter Zetsche undoing Juergen Schremp's work...

Why would they be redesigning the SLK in 2008, again? It's been what, three years? And the SL- another refresh next year? I don't think so.

JUGNU, next year is 2008. LOL.

I'm wondering if I should wait for the new E-Class before I buy my wife's next car... nah, it'll probably be out too late.

BTW LOL next year IS 2008.What's wrong in that S4.

and BTW I notice each time a new car comes out (high end German mostly) U start with your " I'll buy it,I'll buy it next year,I'll buy it for my wife,I'll buy it for winter...etc" .

If u have to be believed u must have 10-12 cars by 2009.

Decide soon Mr S4 because New cars will not stop comming,if u haven't decided u must lack something(Mentaly or financially).

spent...not 'spended' just so you know :-P

And I have one car. a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T manual...soon to be replaced by a 2008 C350 (its being built)

CAN'T WAIT I would like to get a E class though when it comes out. If this is what it looks like http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/5075/w212gi0.jpg then I'm all over it! :D

The article fails to say when the 2009 GLK will arrive in North America. I need it here by the spring of 2008 when my current A6 lease expires, My wife wants a small SUV and I have a number of constraints including a vehicle height restriction. So far, only the Subaru Tribeca meets all our requirements but I really would like to see the GLK before making a final decision. I have not totally ruled out a sedan and will be test driving the 2008 C300 4MATIC shortly.
