Mercedes SLR breaks World record

Wow that was pretty close, the GT was only 1.4 mph slower. SLR seems like a cool car.

There are faster cars out there. They picked a select group and did not include some obvious entries.

what about the Veyron? Or does that not exist anymore? Last I checked, it was faster in a mile than the Mclaren F1, which I guess also doesnt exist anymore. I could name 30 production cars faster...

That's what I was wondering too. Maybe the Veyron is not sold in the UK or it was too expensive to rent for a weekend.

I think that they wanted the "British-built" SLR to win.
