Mercedes will still share major components with Chrysler
DamilerChrysler (that’s still the company’s name until October) CEO, Dieter Zetsche, says that Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler will still cooperate after Daimler and Chrysler go their own ways. The main focus of cooperation between the two companies will take place right here in the US.

No 1970toyotamarc, mostly not hand me downs except maybe for the 3 litre V6 diesel that has been made obsolete by the new 3.2 litre diesel not yet available on Chrysler products. It must be part of the deal when MB sold Chrysler. I'd love to see the terms of that contract and I predict there will be some heated pricing disputes down the road. Economies of scale demand that only the latest components be produced in economic quantities. There is no financial reason to produce obsolete components in parallel unless they are less complex or use cheaper materials.

No hand me downs? The old SLK platform and egine in the Crossfire. The old E suspension bits in the 300.
